Does anyone miss anything about the old school Aussie drug scene? And how does it compare to now?

I’m taking about the days when dealers operated only using phone numbers and word of mouth. I’ve heard that prices were way better and quality on average was much higher.

How old school are we talking. You mean the days where you had to go to the payphone because mobile phones didnt exist.Ring up to find out if your mate (dealer)was home or at pub or snooker hall. Those days gone lifetimes ago lol

I miss waiting on the newest pill stamp to come out and reading pill reports to check what was MDXX High. Tis all MDMA crystal these days. Long gone is the excasty tablet :(
So true, and how i first heard about this site. All pumped up ready to go to a rave and the pills for the night get delivered, straight on the (dial-up) net and check the stamp :)

Yup I remember checking pill reports on dial up too :) fuck I miss those days. What I would give to go to a show and not having everyone’s cell phones out taking pictures and videos. People used to do this thing called dancing where you’d move your body in strange ways to the music.

Haha, i couldn't even imagine a rave/club these days. Probably get into a fight interrupting some drunk dickhead on GHB/Shard taking a selfie, lol
Yep, never seen any phones out at the docks Warehouse raves, or Altona Every Picture Tells a Story. I don't even remember thinking or caring about cell coverage when going to a bush doof like Earthcore. That was the best part, partying off the grid :)

Things i miss..

1. All the stuff mentioned above ^
2. Bushdoofs (rainbow, earth core ect)
3. Raves in some wicked Victorian venues eg Kryal Castle in Ballarat, Packed out multi arena events at melbourne park, Trance Energy at calder park raceway..
4. Thursday night Elevation, Friday night Bass Station/3D, Saturday morning PHD, Saturday night Bubble...sunday morning still buzzing at home in my kitchen so have a dance

and still going hard at 6am..gotta love good drugs

5. Taking and sharing the love with new batches of awesome pills nearly every week.. rarely got anything other than MDMA+binder
6. Carpark sessions.. A night at bubble nightclub would usually be around 5 hours inside the club and 5 hours in the multiplex carpark doing drug missions and geting up to no good.
7. Getting away with such close calls on 3 or so occasions (all involving police/detective searching and not finding trafficable quantities of usually pills G and shards.
8. Walking around the city rolling absolute balls on mdma.
9. PLUR not aggression.
10. Real trance
11. Gooooood drugs!

Man love the shuffle skills! How often you hit the dance floor these days? And you still roll much or na?

I miss people dancing so much, that’s the part that gets me the most. Instead now too for the few people that do move it’s all flow toys. Which are cool but there’s only so much room for hoops, and poi, and all that shit.

I’d take a video of myself but scared to get outed lol.

Although i don't know the people in this YouTube video, it brings back so many memories for me, catching the train out to Altona for a rave.

Jealous as hell I missed the EPTAS era…particularly Global Village, place sounded off gut

I miss the days when you could walk into just about any suburban pub in Sydney any weekday after 4 PM, scan the maybe 15 men there having their afterwork beer, identify with 90 % probability which one was the one you wanted, and for the price of a schooner and $100 leave 10 minutes later with a gram of absolute fire goey.

Instead of today where you need to trawl Locanto for transexual escorts or go to an Asian brothel for a few hours if you have no connect - and then all you get is pretty ordinary meth.

I love to say you didn't miss much to make you feel better mate, but i can't do that here, you really did miss an awesome time in history.

For me it started with one of the EPTaS, then Global Village, Dywitness and the Nightraver, and a few more underground carpark-type events. From there is went CRAZY!
There was a new EPTaS like monthly, also we had the Hardware raves at shed 14 (i think, or maybe shed 13), War of the Worlds 1 at Altona and #2 at the Footscray Flower market, Madass, and many many more i can't remember the names of.

The Melbourne rave scene was like living in a different world, by the mid-late 90's there was a massive rave in Melbourne every weekend. Mix in a few street rave festivals and some 3 day outdoor bush doofs and it's amazing there weren't earthquakes from all the dancing, haha

What was so good about that whole time, never once did i even get close to having a fight with anyone, it was all about love. Love for the music, and love for each other. MDMA = The Love Drug

Honestly I feel like this year has been one of the best in ages. It’s the beautiful moment where everyone is getting back out at the same time, and MDMA tolerances are at an all time low lol.

I’ve got another festival (local maybe 1000 or less ppl, I don’t do massives) in 2wks, gonna be a good one. Out in the beautiful bluffs, all local artists, Void Sound.

are you into the dark psy scene? so glad the NSW dark scene is alive and strong again

eg Kryal Castle in Ballarat

God what a shit hole 😅😂🤣

We weren't part of the rave scene. On the Peninsula in the 90s it was grunge, man. Booze, weed and occasional speed. Pubs before the pokies infested every single venue, so there were *live bands*.

Aussie Crawl came from down here and you can tell in this lol
