When knee-deep in weed smoke, got 5 on it, in a circle with your bros, gettin' geeked, there's almost always some kind of stoner conversation that comes up. Many of those stoner convos can also lead into debates. The bong debates normally are about weed (as in 99% of all couch-lock conversations), but there's also some other delightful subjects for argument, even politics. Let's hear yours, as well as your argument on other's debates!

This could be fun, let's keep it mature.

I'll start:

• When you cough out a hit, do you actually get higher?
• The amount of visible trichomes on the bud is usually a good representation of the quality, true or false.
• Sativa vs Indica, this is a big one...
• Any real proof of a person's weed being laced with other drugs? Every single one of you stoners has had a bag of weed back in your earlier days that kicked your ass so hard you were convinced it was laced. You've not alone.
• Whether or not a person can just throw a bunch of seeds into some dirt, will it grow?

I'll even give my own feedback as I did in these conversations I had. Doesn't mean I'm right.

I do believe a nice big hack out after inhaling a good hit will make several things happen. Your blood pressure will rise causing whatever THC is already in your system to be double timing it to your noggin. Also, the back of your throat will become raw and sore for a while. This is the same general area where insufflated drugs go, meaning that it already is a strong absorbent point, and now that it's raw, it'll absorb even better. After coughing you will get a head rush of sorts, not so much a THC headrush, but the light headedness compliments the weed high and most certainly does feel like you're instantly baked. Once the headrush wears off, you still have a weed buzz going well possibly due to the raised blood pressure and raw absorbtion points in your nasal passage. I have a strong belief that blowing weed out forcefully through your nose actually makes a difference in the head high. Let's all not forget placebo effect. If someone truly believes something from coughing makes you higher, they will always believe they are actually higher.

I do believe it is quite a strong (but not the best) indicator of potency because after all, the actual drug were buying is the trichomes. Clearly, it's a pretty fair assumption that if you have a significant amount of drug than the other guy, your stuff is most likely better. When it comes down to it, they will pay the same amount for less drug or more drug. I've come across some not so visually appealing weed that mudered mothers, however I have come across not one bud that is completely coated with trichomes that wasn't a damn good smoke.

I have no input for the others I posted. Those are just simple over-hearings. Have at 'em!

I think when you cough it opens up ur lungs alittle. but ur also coughing cause it was a good hit and good weed i think so i def think you get high er when u cough. whether the cough is the cause or not haha

Ive always thought that coughing did get you higher, the third time i ever smoked(first 2 times didnt get high, and didnt cough) i coughed off 1 bong rip and almost greened out, it felt like LSD. I have always wondered though, it dosent really make sense as nearly the whole hit was coughed up compared to holding a hit in and not coughing.

The more visible trichomes ime mean's overall better/stronger high.

sativa vs indica comes down to your own opinion. Sativa for me though personally.

Consensus on lacing buds around here, is that the buds themselfs still have left over chemicles in it from the grow stage which wernt flush prior to harvest.

Depending on what kind of dirt you throw the seeds into, yes they will grow but dont expect them to live without care.

How does coughing which forces air out, help the absorption of smoke through the lungs?

That's like saying being sick when drinking beer gets you drunk quicker.

You may think your slightly higher, but that's just a headrush from being short on breath. Because you just coughed yer lungs out.

What do you want to know about sativa vs indica? Neither one is stronger or better. The produce different effects so it is a matter of what you are consuming the cannabis for in the first place. Sativa is more of a mental go out and adventure high, while indica is more of a mellow couchlock type high. Both fantastic.

It's HIGHLY unlikely that you or anyone you know has a 100% sativa or indica plant though. For example OG KUSH is supposedly 85% sativa and 15% indica. Most strains are simply blends of 2 or more older strains.

That being said try mixing 2 types of herb together and it's almost always more enjoyable than using one or the other alone. They seem to compliment each other well.

Coughing is strongly correlated with getting particularly high... but coughing is also correlated with taking a large hit. Are you getting high because you coughed, or because you took a particularly large hit of dense smoke? I think this is an easy one to answer ;-)

I can contribute to at least these three-
1. No, coughing out a hit doesn't make you higher, holding one in does.

2. Once I got some weed and smoked it and everyone who smoked it said they felt really weird. I then smoked it with this one guy and he got drug tested a day or two later and tested positive for PCP. It was the weed for sure that made him test positive, I also tested myself and came up for PCP. I later tried PCP and that weed was definitely laced.

3. Back in the day some plants just sprouted in my friend's yard without anyone ever planting them. They must've grown because we tossed so many seeds back there while breaking weed up, we didn't cut the grass or anything. Only one lived, but it ended up being quite good weed and the plant produced 6 oz of it.

The riskyest place ive ever smoked up was smoking a can pipe in my work on a lunch break when my supervisor was literally 10 metres away in another room.

ill answer the cigarette question; no. smoking weed releases cannabinoids which act on cannabinoid receptors. smoking nicotine activates nicotinic receptors, which does not get you "higher" in any way. if it did, i'd be smokin a cig right now.

There's a head shop nearby, and they have 2 bongs I want so badly LOL.
One is a biohazard, just beautifully made, and has an extra large diffuser thing in it about 3/4 way up the neck, and then you can put ice above that.

The other one is a Sour one, and just has glass tubing strangely shaped just flowing everywhere in the air rofl

The Biohazard one is 200$, and the Sour is 190$. Hopefully I can get both of them soon mwahahaha! I can turn into a bong collector! Make everyone think I'm a pothead, and that theres now small plate with lines of oxymorphone in it in the drawer underneath HAHAHA

Edit: Oh, does anyone know what exactly those diffuser things do? the ones I guess you put water in, and it's inside the neck of the bong? I'm assuming it's to help get toxins out of the smoke....is that all it does?

northern california has the best/most potent marijuana. i'm sure there are strains grown elsewhere that might be better but on average i think their bud is better.

idk about culture. colorado has a pretty widely accepted mmj system though, and people are saying they have a better shot at legalization in 2012 than california does at this point.

there was a thread on here with pictures of what was supposedly considered good marijuana in the 60s and 70s and it looked disgusting. i'm pretty sure it's much better now than it was in any period of history before.

if i'm trying a drug for the first time i generally prefer to take it "pure" so i know what it feels like by itself. with most psychedelics, smoking weed kicks up the effects tremendously but still produces a "stoned" feeling for me that is distinct from the psychedelic effects. with mdma, smoking weed just makes the roll stronger and i don't feel any effects that i usually relate to just getting high. it just comes down to a preference thing i guess, but marijuana seems to potentiate the effects of ANY drug you take it with. at least in my experience.

'A diffuser makes a bunch of little bubbles instead of a medium amount of bigger bubbles.
It lowers the drag in a bong and makes it hit quite a bit nicer.'

Yea, I live in Southern CA, but I go to a dispensary tha had growers all over CA. The pot that grows outside usually won't look as pretty as the pot that grows inside, but you can't tell the potency of marijuana by how it looks I've discovered. When it grows in the sun in big plants in rows, it has a more "generic" look to it.

When it's grown inside, it's easier to manipulate how it looks (I've been told by people who work at the dispensaries lol).

I'll take these.

A water pipe (bong) is by far the most efficient way to smoke, followed by pipes, followed by joints. Joints, while fun and convenient for on the go, are a terrible way to smoke weed.

I've heard that BC (Canada) has some of the best bud in the world, followed closely by basically the whole US west coast. The bud here in Seattle knocks my socks off.

This pretty much adds to the above, but I find Seattle to have an extremely accepting culture around weed, much more than I notice on the east coast. For example, I notice people actually still nickle and dime in NY, while here in Seattle people always roll with at least an 8th. Seattle seems very accepting of drug use altogether. Nearly everyone in my peer group and even some of the older folks I socialize with, ALL smoke weed, and at least 3/4ths of them currently use, or at least used to use other drugs....and I hang out with mostly coworkers that work with me at a well known major corp. I roll, take shrooms, do coke and smoke weed as well as experiment with other things regularly with coworkers.

I've read that weed has increased in average THC levels from about ~2-3% to anywhere from 10-18% from the 1960's to now. I read how 1 bong hit of good quality weed from today is equal to like 40 something joints of 1960's average weed.

I almost always smoke weed at some point while on anything else, but that's simply because I'm a daily smoker and it's pretty much routine. I feel like it improves nearly any drug experience I've encountered, ESPECIALLY when a drug has nausea involved. I feel like my psychedelic trips don't even begin until I smoke.

Yes, I get visuals. I always notice a very snowy pattern on everything when I'm high, sort of like the snow on a TV getting no reception. I also notice that if I stare closely at things, they will start to warp ever so slightly like a suuuuper low dose of mushrooms. Lights also get a glare to them.

Some of the best strains I've had locally are trainwreck, g-13, cat piss and a one that's coming through recently, blue boy!! The blue boy feels very sativa-ish, with a uppity, creative, euphoric high. I believe it's coming from Cali.

Purple Kush is 100% indica. People try to pass purple's off as purple kush but you can feel the sativa mix in the high. When you smoke purple kush the high is un mistakable.

On the subject of purple weed....

It doesn't mean anything. Often times amateur growers simply starve their plants of oxygen in order to get the purple color that people associate with "fantastic weed" for no real reason at all.

I doubt a water filtered device would be more efficient then one that doesn't filter, like a pipe. Bong and bubblers filter some psychoactive materials out of the weed, but a one hitter or a regular bowl pipe doesn't. Joint and blunts are definitly the most wasteful, but damn are they fun to smoke.

When I smoke out of a bong I have to smoke 2-5 times as much weed as I do from a pipe to get equally stoned. I also find bongs to have a more rushy feeling from inhaling so much smoke at once but not as long lasting a high as pipes.
