Benzos Things that temporarily increase Benzo Tolerance

Look, the only person having a hard time understanding anything here is you. The FDA ALWAYS recommends the lowest effective dose, with alprazolam it is 250 mcg. If 125 mcg was any effective, the FDA would've had upjohn make 0.125 mg tablets and they would've been on the market. The reason they are not is because they do not produce any serious anxiety relief or sedation. But it doesn't and thus has no place in medical practice. Get it?

I think you're forgetting quickly what a big business the pharmaceutical market is. If anything, the doses recommended and prescribed are almost always more than the lowest effective dose. Once someone starts on a dose that is more than would have been needed, then sure, the lower dose isn't going to seem very effective at all. And boom, more profit.

Recognize that everyone has different brain chemistry and so everything need not apply to everyone. A failure to understand the facts does not change them.

.125 mg alprazolam is prescribed in some countries. And yes it is active at this dose for some people.

From wiki: "Alprazolam instant release (IR) is available in 0.125 mg, 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg and 2 mg strength regular and orally disintegrating tablets.[104] Alprazolam 0.125mg IR dosage is rare and not carried in most countries, specifically Canada. Alprazolam Extended Release (XR) is available in 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, and 3 mg strength oral."

Alprazolam was the first benzo i took at .25mg. It knocked me the fuck out, so I'm pretty sure it would be active at .125 mg.

Regarding the low dose of Xanax being effective, active, therapeutic or whatever you guys are arguing about...I'm not taking sides at all here but if someone needed Xanax for a medical reason, (anxiety, panic attacks, muscle relaxation, sleep...whatever) they would most likely need at least 0.25 mgs.

That said, I have taken benzos off and on for years. If I haven't taken any for awhile, I can take 0.15 mgs (150 mcg's) of Xanax and feel it relieve my anxiety. I also take that small amount to help with sleep sometimes. My girlfriend can take half of a 0.25 mg tablet (0.125 mgs) and it knocks her out cold.

Point is, everyone is different.
