After being benzo free for nearly a year, I finally agreed to take a low therapeutic dose of alprazolam when it was suggested that my severe GI discomfort and constant diarrhea might be the result of anxiety. I began on .25mg 3x daily and suddenly I was having diarrhea once a day at most, and my stomach pain was gone entirely. After one week the dose was raised to .5mg 3x daily and I'm now completely diarrhea free, my muscles no longer ache, and I have suddenly realized that I was severely nervous almost all the time but was so accustomed to daily anxiety that I didn't realize it.
Well, I'd also forgotten just how lovely benzos feel (I'd take Xanax over Lortab any day). I'd been reading a lot of glowing reports about etizolam here on bluelight and placed an order for 50 1mg Sedokapan brand etizolam tablets and 100 2mg pellets. They should be arriving in a few days. No one seems to agree on what dose of etizolam is equivalent to the dose of Xanax that I take, but the most common claim seems to be that 1mg etizolam is equipotent to .5mg alprazolam. I've also read claims that there are less cross-tolerance issues because etizolam is not technically a benzodiazepine and that tolerance to etizolam may build more slowly than does tolerance to traditional benzos.
So, my question is, how often and at what doses may I take etizolam without rendering my alprazolam useless? Will reduced cross-tolerance issues help in this department? If 2mg of Xanax gets me feeling pretty nice, would 4mg of etizolam be a proper dose?
