Hi all I found this site looking for proper advice from sensible non judging people and ive found it :) Im a 29 year old female from uk.
I have a strange condition which is basically damage from an operation 8 years ago. everyday I have a whole list of drugs including....
paracetamol x 8 per day (boring lol)
Tramadol x 8 per day (400mg)
severadol (IR Morphine) 2 x 20mg per day
Baclofen-was 9 but reduced myself to 6 so 6 x 10mg per day (evil shit)
Amitriptyline 10x4 per day (was on 100mg but reduced to 40 as it doesnt do much for my pain?!)
Lyrica/pregabaline was on a whooping 1200mg but reduced myself to 900mg
anti-sickness various drugs.

I really liked to chilled out feeling tramadol gave me, feeling like i could get stuff done. However I don't get it now 8(

I am slowly working myself off Amitriptyline all together and then starting on the Lyrica.
I have only ever taken my tablets orally, the other day I attempted to sort 20mg of severadol but noting happened?!?!

Any questions please ask. I'm still trying to work my way through this site so bear with me lol!
I have a few questions so trying to find my way back to other drugs....
:?:?

Claire, welcome to the forum from "across the pond". Sorry to hear about the complications from your surgery. Unfortunately that seems to happen far to much and people like you have to live with the results. 1200 mg. of lyrica? Wow thats a alot. To my knowledge that quite a bit more than is typically prescribed here in the states although someone may come along here in blue light that has had a similar dosing experience. Amitriptyline is most often prescribed here for depression however at times they prescribe it in conjunction with other meds. for pain, but it's not all that common. That stuff makes me very sleepy. The basic drug discussion forum could be a good place to get some answers to any questions you might have although members will respond here in New member also. So again, welcome. Glad you decided to join us.

Thanks and hello my friend ?
Yes 1200mg is a massive amount, was put on it by my pain team but slowly trying to reduce it. A few weeks ago I stupdly tried to go cold turkey from lyrica and amitrytaline and also smoking!! Was bloody awful! My body went into shock!! Very nearly had a seizure and do stupid awful things. I honestly felt like I was going nuts! So very scared, constant doom feeling, shaking, sick, such real hallucinations etc! Never mind my pain levels being horrendous!! Never again will I do that!! Am sticking with 900mg of lyrica and have got myself down to 40mg instead of 100mg!! Think I'm doing ok so far.
Pain levels today are god awful!! Very tempted to snort zomorph but have no idea what the f**k do I do?!?
Claire xx

Claire, whenever reducing meds, just do one at a time slowly. I'm so intrigued by minds like ours. I remember once when I was 18 , I quit drugs , drinking , smoking , and went on a diet all at the same time. (ask me how that went). As for zomorph, that's extended release morphine prescribed in the UK. (yea google). Check out the info on B/L, there's a lot of information about morphine er. I'm saying orally unless you can pull off plugging. I've not done it but some swear by it. They say it doubles I'm strength that way. Cheers for now or should I say, BOTTOMS UP (LOL).
