When you walk through my soul, try to remember why you came.
When you come across the gnarled scars and trunks of deadwood, don't be scared to shed tears...but don't feel sorry for me.
Or did you only come for the sunsets?
Disturb the sand as much as you like...they're fairy castles anyway, they were never meant to defy time. They're there to mark the good times, but they were never meant to be static. Remember when the dust scatters across the landscape that you're not destroying anything, you're just changing it.
And there's nothing wrong with change.
I hope you see the beauty. I hope I was successful in that much at least. When you're watching the dirt devils dance across the shoreline's wet lip and the salt in the air tastes like the sky is crying, I hope some of that touches your soul.
Because that's why I've let you walk through mine.
This is my beach.
This is my legacy.
This is the landscape of my soul.
