I don't think bath salts were directly responsible, these are horrible people, but they did these horrible things FOR bath salts. They seem to be the next big media drug scare, and rightly so.

What do you think? Are bath salts responsible? Are they a fad or are they here to stay?

What's the worst thing you have heard of/seen involving bath salts?

Omg I live 30 minutes from Johnson City. Most of these people are meth heads around here. And with bath salts not being mentioned I am sure it was because of meth or just plain mental issues. Bath salt isn't located in any of the headshops around here anymore and I doubt these fuckups could order from an online vendor. After the "bath salt zombie" news and then finding out the guy had no bath salt in his system, I question anything regarding drug induced crimes nowadays. But yeah that couple is sick as fuck

They mentioned bath salts in the video...

Simply sickening but I agree that in order to do that, you have to be fucked in the head to begin with.

watch the video, they were strung out on bath salts, so they sold their kids, or so the news team claims

Shocking most definitely however this "bath salts" bullshit needs to stop. They need to identify what drug it was and report the facts. The whole bath salts description to the public covers so many potential drugs right now, even ones that dont even fit into the same class (stimulants, hypnotics etc) that the term can be completely misleading to those not in the know when reported by the media. Its simply not helpful. We need to know "XXX RC/drug etc specifically resulted in the issue being reported", would be useful, but "bath salts" is just to wide a term these days and will only result in confusion and misinformation.

^The larger the group of drugs they can blame, the better. I'm sure some would prefer to use 'under the influence of drugs', suggesting that all drugs can lead to this behavior. We on BL like to know things, others just want to scare people. And clear information is less scary than if you leave things to the imagination.

I'm kind of conflicted about it to be honest. By blanketing everything under bath salts, it prevents kids that wouldn't otherwise know about (insert chemical here) from obtaining it, misusing it, and overdosing and ending up in the ER or dead. I don't really care if some kid is so stupid to do no research and put random crap in their system, it cleans up the gene pool when idiots die, but they take the drug down with them and ruin it for everyone else.

A perfect example is what happened recently when Fox aired a local story here that showed that gas stations and head shops were selling new Spice formulations - within a week, ER visits doubled as stupid kids went out and bought the crap. Parents are in an uproar and I can guarantee you that we are going to see another wave of cannibinoid bans.

The damage when it comes to "bath salts" has already been done. If they disclose the chemical name, who knows, it could be one of our treasures like MXE and propel that further towards getting banned.

i wouldn't take a drug that has had less testing done on it than what the FDA calls their "fair" testing regimen in order to be passed as an FDA "regulated" drug and most US meds scare me really i think we should know the long term effects of any drug we decide to take but then no one would make any money

You do realize that the FDA allows pharmaceutical companies to pay them to "fast track" drugs to market, essentially making the consumers the test subjects, right? The only real difference between the research chemical market and pharmaceutical companies besides legality is that pharmaceutical companies are held accountable for product quality and the damage that their products cause while there is no accountability for research chemicals and "legal highs" and the fact that pharmaceuticals kill more of their consumers than research chemicals would if they were legal and regulated... things to think about.

Don't even mention losing MXE =(

Wow, thats truly awefull for those poor children, And as for the parents ... you cant call them that, your Mam and dad just wouldnt do that, or even allow things to go that way if they were real parents.

I sincerely hope the children do come safely through the other side and can make a future of happiness and peace for themselves.

This is the type of sick and outright disgusting behaviour that makes me lean ever more to hating the world and soceity, and adds depression to my life aswell, as it stops me beleiving in US as HUMAN BEINGS as a race.

The parents are screwed!!! Once they get to prison they will be beaten and raped on a daily basis for the next 20 years

Tennessee man, not the dumb 'bath salts'. Fuck sake call a drug a drug, enough of the bath salts nonsense.

That is just too terrible.
"Authorities say the girls are doing well..."
How could they ever be doing well after living in that family and what their parents did to them?
It will take years or decades of therapy before they can really be doing well, I would guess.

This case probably has almost nothing to do with bath salts.
It seems to have more to do with two parents who are the scum of the earth.

Totally agree with this line of thought. It seems like the media just has to focus in on some ill-specified evil...
