The world's first cocaine bar

I can't see how anybody would complain about a place like that.

Ohh the horror of doing pure coke at a bar with other people! whooaaa.

Plus doing coke with some college aged girls around isn't exactly torture. That sounds like the beginning of a bangin'! night.

LOL... These clubs have been around for years, 36 is run by the daugher of Vivian, who ran a similar club for a while. And the stuff they sell ain't coke, maybe cut with a little if your lucky, but they shit is glittery, amphetamine type stuff, absolutely putrid imo. Only ever got proper coke a couple of times in Bolivia, this shit even spill over to Peru.

If anyone ends up there then try and find the gringo host (south african) and get down with him, he'll at least sort you out with shit that's maybe 60/40 coke to speed.

This article should do for 36 what the media did to San Pedro prison, bring a lot of heat and have the place shut down for an extended period. I wish journalists would stop cashing in on niche enterprises like this. Does no one any favours.

I've been to Europe a bunch of times, but its time I visit South America. The rampant corruption and favorable exchange rates for the dollar make this a must see country.

Studio 54 was def. the place you could bust out lines, but that was a long time ago sadly.

Be prepared to pay a hefty visa fee ($200 US iirc). Americans aren't popular in Bolivia.

But you're better off going to Colombia anyway, shits all over Bolivia in terms of quality.

In the corner, a pile of board games includes chess, backgammon, and Jenga, the game in which a steady hand pulls out bricks from a tower of blocks until the whole pile collapses.

What? No fuckin yahtzee?? What a hole

"Morales has diligently fought for the rights of coca growers and tossed the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) out of Bolivia."

Kick their imperialist DEA butts back to where they came from.

ahahah sounds pretty intense, though i already have a straight connect for high quality product, and i'd rather chill with some buddies at either my, or their house while we do it intead of in a chosen enviorment. But if im ever there, by any chance, lol ill check it out i guess.

Am i the only person here who thinks that sounds like the shittiest place in the world? Seriously that is the last place on earth id want to go for "entertainment"...Hangin out with a bunch of coked up kids on vacation from college, spendin their trust funds to "see the world" and be "rugged" and shit ...I understand thats generelizing, but i would not want to be around a bunch of goddamn toursts all yakked up. You could not pay me to go there. The description of this club sounds like a torture session. damn. And 15 euros a g aint some kind of cheap amazing price neither...

I bet both my balls if this place sold dope instead of coke you would go there to live lacey k.:p

Seriously? you guys act as if doing lines in some random ass bar would be entertaining. The only good thing I can see from this is how it would be 150 b for a g. Unless I could cop a key and be on my way I don't think I would book a ticket to travel there -.-

150 B for a gram of speed. Oh, yay 8)

The only real coke I got in La Paz was off the street or in the prison.

lol
I've been there with a bunch of british and irish when I was in La Paz. Very expensive place, 10 bolivianos to get in and 150 for a gram. Also run by a mafia, something I found out later, that violently takes other coke bars out of business.
Only went there once, then I also went to another coke bar (I won't say the name, naturally) two other times, which was much smaller and run by one single guy who would just charge you 50 Bs for the same stuff.

All the coke I've seen in bolivia was shiny and dry. I'd compare it in appearance to the "austrian" mephedrone from about an year ago. I wonder the reason..
I don't have any experience with street speed, but I don't think that it would have nearly the same time-effect curve, and I don't think it would be very cost effective to sell amphetamine as coke in bolivia either.

lol

I think I met the same guy, went to his bar/cafe he had better stuff but even that was glittery at times.

I loved this article! I dont even like blow but I spent a couple months in Bolivia and Peru a couple years ago (pre coke bar) but every bar you go in around there has coke flowing out of the bathrooms any way, and MUCH cheaper than 15 euros a gram... thats for sure. I would hope that anyone going to bolivia for a coke vacation would aslo check out some hiking/ sights along the way, the Andes are just breathtaking and I would hope that people wouldnt just go for the drugs. To be honest I've never felt higher on life than when soberly wandering through Peru <3

Right on, I live in Argentina where the bolivians ran the coke trade until the early 2000s when Peruvians took over violently the whole coke trade, luckily if you've been round the scene there's always some hidden Colombians who have the best coke, almost crystal like very translucent white powder that you only feel it when it starts dripping and numbs you, that goes for around 30 dollars a gram which is really expensive compared with Peruvian cut shit that goes for less than 10 dollars a gram...actually the Bolivian used to be quite good back in the day... I've had amazing bolivian but now it's all Peruvian, luckily I have a very good Peruvian hook up who always delivers the best shit he can get and is never powdered so at least it's not stepped 10 times, anyway friends from outside who come to visit still love it.

But nothing beats Colombian, when I was a junkie the best H I ever had I got it from colombians, and there's literally no H in this part of SA, opioids aren't popular at all.

Also tourists WILL ALWAYS get ripped off, I know a gram of good Bolivian in La Paz buying from the streets goes for around 7 dollars if you speak good Spanish, but as far as tourism security and having a good time goes I'd stay away from Bolivia.

Both Peru and Colombia especially are way better choices Can't say that. -phrozen

I met some Norwegians that had been 4 months in Bolivia smoking base every day and they looked like ghosts, they said since they arrived in SA they were doing it daily they were in so bad shape I felt really guilty hooking them up, but at that point they would have got charged 20x more and got cut to shit stuff...there's no such thing as harm reduction with a drug as neurotoxic as cocaine, and most of the tourists who come just for the coke are missing a whole lot of things a break from the routine as a holiday should be about... Though I admit I was once going to go to Laos for the cheap Opium and heroin and whole weird atmosphere of that part of the world, however I did more heroin and coke tourism in NYC that what I've done in Ecuador Peru and Colombia.
