National lottery draw! I'm looking forward to the 237th appearance of ball number 28

edit>>>they're using Lancelot!

Blimey. TG & Mr Fishy on the one night?!? With these rare delights BL is truly spoiling us <3

Am studiously avoiding the new series of The Walking Dead until it's available as a complete torrent. That show's addictive as fuck. And works best with utterly fuckin' insane levels of dissociatives being IM'd at regular intervals. Neither of which is the case right now...

^Hi hubby. :)

How's tricks?. Long time etc. :D

I forgot to add American Horror Story to my short list. In all honesty, I've been watching all the aforementioned programs online with Spanish subs, but I do not give any fucks. I can't even be arsed to wait a week to watch the latest episode of Homeland. Must watch NOW!.

Tricks are tricky as ever, missus. Great to see you 'round and 'bout the place <3

Plenty peeps seem to be into that Homeland thingy. I tend to be wary of such things. Will give it a few years to see if it's worth a wank. I only got around to watching The Wire a coupla months back 8o

Good to hear things are...tricky, I guess. :D

You should defo check out Homeland. I was so skeptical at first as I really didn't think it'd be my sort of thing. Pilot's a bit slow, but it picks up momentum pretty quickly. T'is seriously gripping. But I know you really need to be into the idea of a program before you're almost forced into watching it by others. I keep on seeing people mention Breaking Bad & Supernatural, but I'm just not in the mood to watch either of them atm.

I was also weary of Breaking Bad, missus. Is a fuckin' belter though. Watched however many series there's been back to back during one of me "awaytimes" and am gutted they split this recent series cos left properly hanging. Never heard of Supernatural but would have to join the queue in recommending Breaking Bad <3

I'm sure I'll get around to watching Homeland at some point. Know fuck all about it really but has the whiff of 24 or similar so keeping it at a distance for now.

this week's Misfits had many lulz

but in walking dead news :( :( :(

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Dont understand at all why they have split it into 2 parts, just make it different seasons or something? I dont know.

Some of the responses to that post were hilarious, from the US majority,

"what kind of fucking idiot reads a tv show"

"why didnt he just watch the tv show wtf?i dont understand"

About a good 50 or so 8(

and what the fuck 4od 5 fucking adverts????????

Are they doing that annoying thing of having a lengthy break mid-season for Walking Dead too, Mz Marmz? They did that with new Breaking Bad and was most miffed.

They did that with breaking bad due to disputes with the writer about how many episodes to include and whether it would go to a full 6 seasons or stop at 5. There was a compromise reached I think, and they decided on 5 but with a split to make sure quality wasn't compromised ... so it ended up panning out that way, er something like that anyways ... I just see them as two separate seasons really and I'm just happy they're seeing it through to give the show the time and quality resolution it deserves.

walking dead wise, they've got 16 or 17 episodes to this current season, when previously there was only 12-13, so although it's a pain in the arse to have a break, at least they're giving it additional episodes than it had originally ... they've split it at a decent moment though at the end of a chapter, sort of.

I saw what you wrote about waiting for the whole season to complete before you were gonna start watching it .. but now's about the right time if you wanna dip into it imo ... enough episodes to be getting on with for a marathon sesh, ready for the beginning of feb and the next chapter. they're sterling episodes too Shambles, it's maintained the tension insanely well

Oh, does Adblock work with 4od? I was stunned when it fixed youtube, but 4od too? Must check it out. 4od takes the piss with the adverts.

I've gone back to the eighties, turns out TV was pretty good back then. Better than I remember it, anyway. Worked my way through The Young Ones, queuing up Bottom and Filthy, Rich and Catflap.

I never watched Max Headroom first time round, will give it a spin.

Marmz: Thanks for the info and tip. If splitting seasons means higher sustained quality then a cross worth bearing, I suppose. The Breaking Bad break point did seem distinctly arbitrary which is what miffed me but that may well be just my memory failing again. Will definitely get the first half of Walking Dead if it's stopped at a decent place then. Might just have to acquire me some dissociatives to go with it again though. Watched first two seasons back-to-back round the clock in an MXE haze originally. Added whole new dimensions to it I can assure thee 8o

Knock: Thought I was the only person on Earth who remembered Filthy, Rich & Catflap. Still got it on VHS somewhere. There were a coupla other Rik & Ade shows that kinda sunk without trace too but buggered if I can recall the titles of 'em. I suspect I could probably work out the plots though. They only have the one really. Bloody good one though =D

Also, Max Headroom was great. Didn't watch that many of 'em cos it was on late and I wasn't really supposed to be up but caught a few of 'em and saw a few in later years. Seem to remember enjoying the game on me 48k Speccy too.

I has filthy rich n catflap too, remember watching it on telly as well. Love the young ones and Alexis Sayle is lush, definitely have a crush there.

Shambles you mentioned Deadwood ages ago and said you were working your way through it. Did you finish it?

I started watching it on your recommendation and I think I watched all 3 seasons within the space of a month :o (love TV marathons of decent calibre series)

LOVED it. Ian McShane was awesome. He was in this week's American Horror Story as a one off cameo playing a Homicidal/Psychopath Santa .. t'was a perfect role for him and awesome character to play

Yup. I also blasted through Deadwood quicksmart. Was one of those that folks had recommended for ages but just didn't appeal. Was well pleased that I got around to it though. Some amazing characters, storylines and period detail in there. Loosely based on real people and events I think.

I tend to do that with most of these big TV shows. Haven't got the patience to watch in dribs and drabs so hold back then splurge. Do tend to lose days at a stretch with some of the longer series though 8o

Also, Alexei Sayle is a legend. He lived in the next village up the road from me when I was in me teens. Never saw him out and about though. Unlike the local celeb here (Robert Plant) who can quite often be seen down the Co-Op.

Robert Plant, now there is a man who had the perfect rock voice. I bet he has some tales to tell from the Led Zeppelin days.
