William H Masey though as Frank.

Also, you'd never get the same scenarios in the US that you would in the UK. They don't have council estates. It's just not the same.

I loved game of thrones, I didnt expect much but was I was gripped and excited throughout. It lacked the richness of the Sopranos and I doubt it will bear as much rewatching but it is one of the best HBO since.

recommend.

Just watching the new US version of shameless. Lets see if it's as shite as I think it will be.

I think its the same as original, even same script , just with American actors

One of the main elements of Shameless is that it was set in a Manchester councill estate, it was about life there and only there.
I cannot see the US version working at all :\ I was half-tempted to watch it at first but I've decided against it unless I'm feeling suicidal with nothing else to do I reckon.

Just watch Episode 3, 5 and 9 and 10. The rest are shite.

Pretty stupid watching just those episodes. Either watch them all or dont bother
Its true some were not as good as others, but I wouldnt have wanted to miss them either, to follow the story properly like

It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I'm ashamed to admit it.....

Definitely. I loved them all ordered the books as well so I cant wait to read them.

Just caught episode 2 of nex Dexter season 5, probably my favorite thing on TV at the moment. FX really does have all the good shows :)

Does anyone else watch The Life and Times of Tim, it's fucking brilliant. After a couple of episodes its offbeat style and the general layout of each episode makes them funnier and funnier.

I am ashamed to say that I also watched the new episode of Burn Notice, which filled time but was hardly amazing...

New thing with Kayvan Novak, tonight on Channel 4, at 10. Called Sirens, about ambulance workers. Looks alright on the advert, and Kayvan is a funny guy.

The US Shameless was actually alright. I didn't think it would work, but I also thought it would be a different script - I guess that's why I thought it would be shit.

I must admit that I've been loving the Ricky Gervais show. Karl Pilkington is so funny, because he's so stupid. Some of the stuff he says is classic. I caught an episode of 'Idiot Abroad', too - that was alright.

Wow, you're in for a treat, you will not be disappointed! The best saga I've ever read by far, and I've read a lot. The characters are unbelievably rich, and the land so believable.

Can't wait for book 5 to be released on the 12th July.

I urge anyone who had even a passing interest in the series to get the books.

I've heard good things about Game of Thrones (except in this thread).

Some people eh? This is why God gave them Saturday night TV :)

Did anyone see James May's - Everything You Need To Know About The Universe last night? Oh. My. Fucking. God.

The material was ok, though stupid to even attempt to cover it in 30 minutes. But the supporting graphics were....well, embarrassing and just cringeful. Something like those old Monty Python graphics. Dumbing down in action.

Go on, just watch it for 10 minutes and marvel at their cutting edge graphical delivery methods. Not to mention May's narrative.

Anyone watching 'Walking the Amazon' on C5 right now? My mate had told me about it earlier in the week but this is the first episode I've seen. English boy decides to walk the length of the Amazon river. NUTTER & LEGEND!

Might of already been mentioned but I watched all of the Luther series on iplayer recently and they're great. The main guy is the main drug dealer in The Wire. Bit over the top in parts but if you can suspend your disbelief for a while it's got some great moments...

Is that the one where he starts with some bloke who backs out, then has a local guide with him who can't speak English? If so, I saw this a while back somewhere. As you say, nutter and legend.

Aye apparently he started with a mate from back home who bottled it and left a month into it so he went solo for a bit hiring guides here and there till he met a Peruvian bloke and took him along for the rest of the trip, mad wee bastard that he was. They didn't share a common language so made communication a bit difficult. The Peruvian was well handy though he was catching fish & crocodiles to eat.

I quite like this as well even though it is pretty unrealistic.

the main drug dealer in The Wire

You mean Stringer Muthafuckin' Bell!!! Legend. Aka Idris Elba.
