Can anyone else give an opinion on Fresh Meat? My mate recommended it to me but he has priors for shite telly, as does Treacle ;)

Ive watched both episodes so far, its alright the posh uni accents get proper annoying sometimes though seems a but exagerated but who knows, better than everything else that is on at that time anyway

I don't watch telly on the actual telly though so the timing doesn't matter. I think I may give it a miss. Occasionally having to deal with "posh uni accents" in real life is bad enough. Although English ones aren't as bad as they just sound like generic English accents to me, the "Glasgow Uni accent" is the fucking worst. I've pulled people up for it before (usually fueled by booze & cocaine) at parties "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU ACTUALLY FROM? YOU DON"T REALLY SPEAK LIKE THAT!".

while re-watching The Thick Of It for about the 10th time.
I've only seen a few of these. need to remember to watch the rest

have you seen the movie? the 2nd half of it always does the job if i'm in dire need of a laugh. insults of the intelligent variety are things of win. the In the Loop script nails visciousness to perfection. even the retarded stuff like 'oi, you two, White Stripes', or 'Shut up, Love Actually!', leave me peeing my pants. never get bored of listening to the scottish whip ripping the fax machine a new one & Malcolm departing with 'i love you'. Steve Coogan does the business as always

fresh meat is watchable, but not top notch. think it's co-written by some of the peepshow guys and the iannucci crew, but it's 3 episodes in and it's not even close to peep shows level, and nowhere near as funny/painful/excruciating to watch. it's decent filler and worth the download tho, and some of the student stereotypes and observations raise the odd chuckle.

"Shut it Love Actually! I'll hole punch your face!" is one of my favourite lines from it.

Another favourite being when Jamie (same character) in one of the episodes of The Thick Of It says to Malcolm "This is a pub fight. Motherwell rules." Always has me in stitches. Most of you won't get that as you won't be aware of the shitehole that is Motherwell. I think that's what makes it funny, it's such an obscure reference.

the britishness of it is so well satirized it leaves you with no option but to be fucking embarrassed.
even the random shots of Malcolm hotfooting it basil faulty style through washington to get to the war committee are class

not sure how well known Wilfred was on BL when it was on recently, but if you missed it and go for comedy, it's worth checking out and easy to find torrentwise. thought it was genuinely original and funny as fuck and can't say i usually like Elija wood, but he worked well next to the pooch. Seeing 'bear' getting dryhumped/raped/humiliated had me howling. working my way through the original Aus series, which has a much different vibe, and i dont like it as much

Eastbound & Down is a belter.

I liked Party Down but never really got into Parks & Recreation after a couple of episodes, I'll go back & give it a shot the now as I'm kind of stuck for something funny to watch & I've got a couple of series downloaded.

I just finished the second season of The League. I don't think I've roared out loud with laughter at anything as much as I have at The League. It's fucking hilarious.

Christ, this thread got buried. I recommend 'Fresh Meat' on C4, Wednesdays. From the writers of Peep Show, with Simon from The Inbetweeners. Pretty funny and enjoyable. Catch up!

I only saw the second episode and found it pretty average at best, maybe I needed to have watched the first ep to get it? Not sure, it did seem a bit like they tried to get a bunch of funny actors together and try and force it to be a good comedy show. The comedy was pretty poor, especially the posh guy that is living in the house, if he is actually meant to be in any way funny then my sense of humour is lacking. There were some slightly funny moments over the whole show, but not enough to make me want to watch it, not LAUGH OUT LOUD enough to keep me watching.

For anyone still considering making a start on Fresh Meat ... last night's ep was dire, it's getting worse, not better, so I'd give it a miss.

Anyone watching The Fades, the new BBC3 fantasy/horror? there's so many supernatural/paranormal shows out there generally atm, but BBC3 often score a few winners with a new spin & take on popular stuff. normally with a bit of black comedy on top. [I loved Being Human] for anyone interested, trailers/clips
havent yet made a start on watching the 3 ep's Ive dled of it so far, but it looks decent. if anyone's already hooked on it, or gave up because it's a pile of poop and can be arsed to comment, t'would be appreciated.

Also, Some Dogs Bite ... any good, yay, nay?

I did not know it was responsible for two pints of shite. which, i concur, is utter shite

and now I somehow feel my taste has been undermined. I'm semi-doubting myself. I don't like it. you fucker!

and since my ego has now been dented, I'm taking this opportunity to state that I've never seen a full episode of Friends.

there. I feel a little better now

Top Boy on channel 4 is looking like it's going to be shithot I would say! %)

Sounds no bad that. When is it on? Sounds like This Is England 2011, set in London, starring Asher D. Haha, that makes it sound shite but it actually does seem like it could be good. It says autumn on the channel 4 website, is it not fucking winter yet? Feels like it.
