The most expensive footwear I own is Daytona bike boots. They're gorgeous n' quite girly %)

But not great for day wear at work 8)

Everyone should have good footwear.

It's absolurtely true, you can tell a lot about a person by their footwear (except in this case where I bought what was available to me because I needed a pair of shoes).

Oh, not particularly. Like I say I had a tiny choice of shoes at the airport and the only ones I actually like were a pair of brogues that cost 280 euros and I was skint so I just bailed out and bought the cheapest pair of trainers that wasn't a pair of plastic clogs (still 140 euros).

Absolutely, if you're going to do those things a good pair of specialist shoes is essential really.


On a more general front....bed and shoes, you should always find the money to get quality because if you're not in one you're in the other

New boots?

I went to Snowdonia hill walking in a pair of boots that I had only worn once or twice before and it detroyed my feet. Tried to break them in as much as I could beforehand but I just didn't have time, won't make that mistake again!

You're 100% right about hill walking and running shoes, you don't have to spend loads of money but getting a pair of specialist boots/trainers are essential for looking after your feet and enabling you to enjoy the activity properly.

No I just wear normal black boots that you'd wear with jeans, to go out or whatever lol

I never thought i was going to walk back or I'd have wore my walking boots. Was an impulsive decision.

My work boots are.surprisingly comfortable. Although they need to he when your on your feet 12+ hours a day...takes some practice driving in massive boots though...

Heh, before Halloween we bought 9 pairs of Panoply safety shoes at an auction for a good price. We neglected to check the sizes, which were all size 6. We've now knocked down the price to £9.99 and only sold our first pair yesterday and the only reason they sold is because it was a woman buying them.

Oh I do like expensive shoes I make no bones about that and have spent much more than that on a pair of shoes. I think I probably have about 15 pairs which is more than most men I guess. That was genuinely the cheapest pair of feet coverings I could find that wasn't a comedy pair of plastic clogs though. I'm not really a fan of Hugo Boss' shoes tbh, if I was spending that much money I would look to Oliver Sweeney or Duggers first every time.

Yeah I used to work 18 hour shifts five times a week all stood on my feet and it destroyed them. I used to wear the crocs bistro sandals which are very good if you don't need support/weatherproofing etc but even with them my feet got fucked.

If I had 20 pairs of shoes (I have 3) only two would ever be in circulation at one time; dress shoes and everyday shoes. I just wear them until they're done and move on. I've only just worn a pair I got at Christmas for the first time, because the previous pair got a hole in the seam. I still wear them on dry days though %)

I'd rather wear trainers but health and safety says they've got to be steel toecap safety boots......at least they're reasonably decent ones and not from the fucking pound shop or something

Nah see this is the thing, once you build up a good selection of shoes and start wearing them on rotation they actually last for a sensible amount of time and you always have boxfresh looking kicks on. I used to just have one or two pairs and wear them in to the ground then buy another but that is such a shit way of doing things.

This way all you have to do is spend a year or two buying a pair of shoes every month or two and from then on all you have to do is buy shoes at exactly the same rate as you were before and your collection will mean your shoes are new and fresh all the time, you have a choice of different shoes and a good shoe for every occasion, can match them to clothing, your favourite shoes don't get ruined in weeks and you can have them for years etc.

There's no turning back, I think the day I cottoned on to the common sense of having a shoe collection was the day I can honestly say I was a civilised human being.

Yeah man if I was doing your job outside on my feet for long stretches at a time in all weathers I would be investing in the best boots I could afford. Can't put a price on looking after your body really, at the very base level it's that that's bringing the bacon in! No feet no work!

You may be on to something. I do like rocking a new pair (so long as they're comfortable) and it seems that a lot of women tend to check out a man's shoes as a judgement.
