🗣️ General Discussion 🗣️ The Weather Thread

perfect weather in blighty, 21C 70F, a few clouds and no rain.

a long walk with a picnic was divine yesterday

it is getting a little hot. I need to get my sandals and lots of water/juice I think

today is "cooler" at 33C/90F.

been to the cinema, shopping centre, and aircon'd food this week.

bored of being hot.

My town is Famous.
This happened just around the corner from my flat, the smoke was brutal.

holy shit, wrecked it from a little grass fire on the lawn, how did it start?

so the governments phone warning was useful?!

The Cops are looking into possible Arson, it is some "trend" now among the Youth around here according to The Cops to film their crime of starting the biggest Fire possible then posting the results online.
so the governments phone warning was useful?!
lol

That fucking Beeping scared the Piss outta me, yeah it came 2-3 days too late for us around here.
Andy Burnham turned up in the Town Hall & my mate came to tell me, that Cunt rolls 10 men deep & they all had Tazers on display, I dread to think how many were dressed as normal people but had hidden guns.
Loads of people were waiting to take a photo of him walking out, I walked past shouting "Fuck Burnham, his a Communist" several times.

England went from devastating heat effects (err, summer) to devastating water effects (err, rain) with poor infrastructure causing flooding.

France gets mostly sunshine with intermittent rain, plus numerous arrested arsonists. An example of man-made climate change™.

so the governments phone warning was useful?!
Not necessarily. It might've caused a bit of GDP loss ironically and maybe even a car crash or hospital accident. The governments top PR role (new prime minister) is spinning what the public want to hear so nothing different there from the previous one.

Truly amazing Thunder & Lightning Storm in The West Mids this morning, I was awoken by the Bang from The Thunder & then a blinding Flash from The Lightning, the rain was like something you would see in India or Thailand in the Monsoon season.

As the ground is so baked dry all the water ran off & the whole street became a river, I was awoken around 4:20am & went out into the garden wearing only my cut-off jeans & nothing else as I love a great storm & to jump around in the rain as I play Burzum - Et Hvitt Lys Over Skogen (White Light over The Forest)

Out of all the weather we get on this Island it's Thunder & Lightning I really love, I know to be outside in the worst storm of the year isn't too wise but it's the RAW POWER of Nature I love & am humbled by every time.
Every dog in the street was going mad as it was so powerful & the flash in the sky was unlike anything I have seen in decades, it was a Storm I will remember for quite some time.

To take a kind of Animism-lite view of it I can grasp how in the old days how Cavemen types could see an event like that as "The Gods" being happy or angry etc, I still can see in a way how "The Gods" could be seen as having one hell of a party up in the sky & the Thunder & Lightning is the result of HP Lovecraft's Nath-Horthath off his head on DXM & Moonshine doing some dance of War & Destruction (like Shivya does in the Tandava)

I always think what Cavemen people must have been thinking when they were witness to a Storm like what came over today or a Blood Moon etc, I would truly love to get really loaded on a dose of 7-9 dry grams of Liberty Caps / Psilocybe semilanceata & go sit naked or just wearing cut-off jeans on the top of a Hill & watch the Sky split in a flash of White Anger & then hear that BANG, it makes even the most Ego filled person HUMBLE as you grasp that "you" as a person isn't important & are equal at the very best to a grain of Sand on the Beach.

"lightning can heat the air it passes through to 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5 times hotter than the surface of the sun). When lightning strikes a tree, the heat vaporizes any water in its path possibly causing the tree to explode or a strip of bark to be blown off."

How anyone cannot be stopped in their tracks, have the mind go "blank" in Pure Awe at this is beyond me, I am shocked & humbled by stuff like a Tsunami & really strong wind but for me the ultimate K.O. blow is always in Thunder & Lightning.

I always felt everyone knew about counting the seconds to figure out how far the storm is away, I did think today with so much rain that had fallen & made small rivers all over the place if some Lightning hit the floor could the Electric run right through the flow of water & maybe "cook" someone who is standing in it?

I know LIlly-bert the cocker-poo HATES a good storm, she gets very terrified, goes to the door & will do a loud bark at it, the moment another strike comes she gets terrified & runs off, give it a moment & she sneaks back out from under the sofa to do another bark again.

you get a good dose of it too @Shambles @BadBoy377 @ageingpartyfiend @Bleaney @placebonaut @Perkins : Reborn
I was thinking to myself Ageingpartyfiend imagine being really baked on 4-HO-MET at the main Lodge with Rev Rick & watching the sky Crack & dance just as the sun is starting to rise but it's still dark enough for the white flash to really slice through the dusk, that is 100% their kind of weather I'd be out in just cut-off jeans jumping around like some Norse mad man giving praise to Kali & Gayatri.

what are the storms like in Monsoon season @Jackal as I have a feeling where you are the Thunder & Lightning must be so Epic due to the high pressure meeting cold air which causes Nature to give humanity a display beyond words.

nice as hell out
sunny
breezy and cool (for now)
decent air quality

guess the canadians will have to put tariffs on their smoke, now. 🙄 guess ill have to do without cant afford it.

took a stroll to get blood work done this AM and got baked as a mf afterwords and ate a couple buttery sausage biscuits.
nice....
✌🏼

Enjoyed the storm mid-afternoon here - I also can't resist going outside in a storm, it's a great feeling

Once saw an incredible lightening storm from a house rooftop extremely stoned, probably not the best combination of things safety-wise but, well, I was young
