This shit is fuckin insane.

Why the hell do people regularly spunk half a years wages to endure this?

fuckin mental cunts.

I honestly thught i was going to collapse in Home Bargains earlier. I presumed that they would have aircon, how stupid of me...

imagine that they have people working for a wage in this stink heat. Not a nice cool supermarket but a kitchen or picking tomatoes. Woulldn t last a minute now i did that when .. for money

That water thing for birds btw 🤙 my Granny s idea. Don t have a cat anymore she ll love this story about the fox-es and magpie. She was keeping cool by putting her feet in a bowl 💡 That works especially well for Dogs too i remember. Maybe Cats too

@Cheshire_Kat ;)

Keep cool

my parents spent the day in a shopping centre yesterday, it was quiet because everyone was out enjoying the sun, had aircon, they had lunch a light bit of shopping, an afternoon film, dinner, then got home as it started to cool down.

I fucking hate boomers :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Home bargain verses luxury shopping mall nice portrait of poor and rich. Bloody hot versus aico-ed to a way you asking the manager if its ok to sleep over for once. At least the thought crossed my mind.

Did develop a good fan tactic in absence of climate control. Tackling the porblem from differnt angles. So a fan extra for the PC one on my body the other under the table aimed at my temple. Works great, besides dry eyes and nut ... sack

more pensioners using cheap discount offers to stay cool and avoid the heat literally killing them. Window shopping is free too.

They can't afford aircon when it's hot and can't afford heating when it's cold.

Though I think they did treat themselves to an M&S meal deal for lunch, so I guess they only have themselves to blame

The excess heat has gone from here, the ambient temperature is a pleasant 19C outdoors right now, meaning all that stifling, roasting, oppressive heat has gone..

Thank God the jet stream didn't get 'stuck' in a position that would have meant we'd have had that weather system for a much longer duration!!

(2-3 months seems to be the average duration when the jet stream gets stuck in various positions close to the UK, and this has meant that we've either had completely dry and sunny weather for the duration, or alternatively that it's just constantly rained. The jet stream getting stuck around the UK seems to be happening much more often. It's got stuck in early spring 2 or maybe 3 times over the last 5 years or so, which has been glorious to get about 3 months of sunny weather from Feb to April, long before the heat starts becoming oppressive, and just gives pleasant temperatures, and clear blue skies, and wall to wall sunshine every day for months! But it also seems to have got stuck in 'the wrong place' during various recent summers, meaning they have largely been depressing, total wash-outs.)

Somehow got heatstroke despite having the curtains closed and not going out much. Combination of Celtic genes and medication that raises body temperature.

I've puked, shat and hallucinated for the last three days. Not fun.
that quetiapine and sertraline combo you're on sounds....intense

I also struggle heavily with heat and have to make sure I take minimal temp-raising drugs when it's hot (sounds like you don't have much of a choice in that though)

Same here.

It's not so much the heat, it's the humidity and high pressure. It's suffocating.

Drinking vodka in this weather seems almost unpleasant...

Have the fan blowing the hot air out of a room/window. Once the room temp is cooler than outside, point it at yourself.
There is a therm for that ... ? Thermo dynamics. Gnna use that principle next time

The heat subsided at last, after a thunder blast. Last night was still unberaable. the floor still feels as a pre heatwd cooking plate, glad i am not a Cat though. Tonight will be the coolest night in a week orso

In the USA we're having a huge heat wave this week. In some places around 43C.

Even where I am which shares a similar latitude to France and Italy could hit 100F or 38C.

We're being roasted!
