THE WAR ON DRUGS IS OVER! Drugs are now legal, how does this affect you?

If drugs were legal ... I would get bored, as I usually do on sober nights, and run down to walgreens to score some weed, dope, coke and benzos. I would get hooked all over again. I'm not gunna deny that. If I think about it, the only reason why I ever quit any drugs was the financial hardships that resulted or the lack of availability of the drugs, and both of those problems would be over with at that point.

It's funny, most people on this forum wish drugs, or at least, their drug of choice was legal for them to buy but so far the majority of members have acknowledged that if drugs were legal they would soon fall to addiction or financial hardship.

I'd it up my local corner store before and after classes for my nice fat ass 200mg nickel sack of raw heroin. Maybe get some pure pharm grade yay while i'm there and mix myself up a nice little pre lunch bump!

God that could be magical

I absolutely love how everyone would go completely crazy. I, however, would probably just grow my own pot. And I would end up an old lady with a cute little garden of pot. I can just see myself watering them right now.

I often think of having a little plant as a houseplant, do you think anyone would notice?

If drugs were legal, they would probably stop being a constant topic of discussion and thought for me, because 1) their novelty would disappear, and 2) I would have tried all of drugs I want to try by curiosity (ie. all of the RC's, 2CB, 2CI, etc...)

I'm not looking to get fucked everyday of my life; quite the contrary, I'm looking for experiences that will stun me and make me grow as a person, and to feed my curiosity for new experiences.

If drugs were legal, some of my friends that don't understand a thing about E would finally try it (I think...) and would realize exactly what the hype is all about, the doors it opens, the positiveness that comes out of it, the love for life ...

This is also a big one for me. When certain things come around town I wouldn't be stressed/obsessed with finding extra money to stock up on rare chemicals. I believe the novelty would most definitely wear off. There is so much thought/energy/time that goes into scoring for me and this would be eliminated. I would not feel the need to buy LSD right then and there if I knew I could get some when I have money to spend on it.

If drugs became legal, I would actually start worrying about society. Imagine how much more addicts would surface once meth or heroin became legal... yikes!

That being said, I'd probably get my hands on as many psychedelics as I could and find some rural setting where I could trip my balls off.

Chances are that they'll do their thing at home.
Legalization will probably result in unexpected social changes but I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of those were v e r y positive.

The war on drugs costs a ridiculously large amount of money and lives and I really hope people will come to their senses and do away with that shit.

I'd be growing weed, poppies, peyote, mushrooms, producing DMT, and tripping bawls. I'd get me some MDMA straight away!

I just found some in a box I had not opened for years.
If you're quick you can pick 'm out of my trash when I put it outside. =D

I think it's funny how negative some people are in here about this idea. Who's to say everyone would go crazy and binge and that thousands of addicts would spring up eternally? I'm willing to bet most of the people who would be addicts are already some sort of addict to some degree. Addicts exist, the world goes on.

Yes, many people would likely become addicted overnight, but this is a natural reaction to being repressed for so long. This is why a starvation diet doesn't work. After a while, you're going to eat, and when you do, it's going to be A LOT. And you're going to have a stomach ache big time. Same idea.

After a while though, drugs would just be like alcohol. Just because alcohol is legal, doesn't mean that everyone's an alcoholic. Eventually it became more or less looked down upon to wake up and start drinking (in Planet America that is 8) ). It's not a good thing whether it's legal or not. Same thing would happen with meth, heroin, weed, etc. Most people have the will and the dignity to not be fucked up 24/7. Of course, just like there are alcoholics, there would be drug addicts. It's just the way it is.

I totally and fully support total legalization, and it's likely that I would go crazy at first, but I believe I'd be OK in the long run. Maybe I'm just crazy-optimistic :)

/Rant

Exactly.

I said something very similar on the last page.

This would all be exactly like the legalization of alcohol.

I'd be able to get heroin or other opiates in the quantity and purity I want. I would not have to go through the hassle that accompanies obtaining illegal drugs. I would not have to always "look over my shoulder" and be unnecessarily paranoid. I would not be looked down on, as my drug of choice is no longer illegal.

In general, I'd probably save plenty of money, time, and peace of mind. :)

Lots of LSD, shrooms, weed, and research chems....

without fear of the DEA bashing down my door and storming in with guns to arrest me, i would probably turn to the chemistry involved in making the various drugs of abuse and research chemicals...

the chemistry behind it all has always fascinated me as much as the actual drugs... so i would have a shed in the back yard with a nice lab in it... as well as a greenhouse to cultivate weed and other psychoactive plants... the yard would have opium poppies... phalaris (sp?) grass covering my lawn, finally have a reason to cut the damn grass...

i try to limit the really addictive drugs in my life... and so far its worked pretty well... i would enjoy being able to work with the chemistry involved in the making of psychoactive substances without the fear of going to jail... hell most of the opiates/opioids i wouldn't even do on a regular basis... but like i said before, the chemistry behind it is half the fun for me.....

It would give me the peace of mind i've been missing when taking my drugs, i hate worrying about whether the drug is pure/good/bad etc. I would love to go to the store and know exactly what I'm getting. Also, if drugs became legal i think it would cut down so much crime.

It's not that easy.
Alcoholism isn't illegal right now, but alcoholics don't exactly get tons of respect, do they?

How many people do you know that have the predisposition to smoke meth or shoot heroin, only to be deterred by it's illicit nature? I'd venture there aren't too many.

I doubt people will be like, "ZOMG! Crack is legal?! Lemme go smoke some right damn now!! What the hell am I still doing here with money and a job?"
