The Vaporwave Thread

In the computer industry, vaporware (also spelt vapourware) is a product, typically computer hardware or software, that is announced to the general public but is never actually manufactured nor officially cancelled. Use of the word has broadened to include products such as automobiles.

I feel vaporwave is a bunch of fake autists just sampling 80s stuff so that white people who drink cough syrup and smoke weed will have something to listen to. Its vapor alright. Vapor as shit. Its so bad those noise artists look good.

I like nostalgia music but vaporwave doesn't do it for me. Maybe if they added some filtered pads with slight pitch modulation. and kids saying orange

It doesn't really help that the people that produce vaporwave have no idea how to produce. Its all very low bitrate stuff that they've sampled off of youtube. And I'm not sure why there is movement towards Trap/Atlanta Rap (Chopped and Screwed) and French House or nu-disco.

It'd be great as an idea. I'd love to hear some sort of Robotech theme remix that's like a Cafe Del Mar remix or something.

Boards of Canada? I don't think BoC has the sort of love affair with 80s anime that vaporware does.
