The ultimate gamer thread, aka 'Geek my Forum'

I play WoW, I been playing it for about 1.5 years now... i love it. Im in one of the best guilds on our server so it owns :)
I wouldnt play any other game!

I've been playing wow for a year and I'm in the most select guild on my server, by that I mean we don't actually do anything besides make bad puns and joke about the misfortune of others.

I bet you're alliance...
 
since i got into real life entertainment again no game has been able to hold my attention for longer than a couple of hrs..

got a little bit of a lan setup here on barracks, and afew of the guys and i have been playing some good old UT2004..

I just sold my character for $250.

I could have gotten more... but $250 for quitting a game I was over is more than enougn reward.

Only so many clefthoofs I can kill... and there is a point I stop caring about resiliance.



Now, if only my tv dinner lasagne would cook, i could forget about eye of the storm.

Out of interest where did you sell your character? I've got 2 lvl 70's and I've been growing pretty tired of the game as of late and may as well make some moolah off my hard work.
 
I need to not get out more. So you mean you can actually sell a bloody character in a game for cash??

When i was in korea a couple of years ago my gf used to be crazy for all the gamer tv shows, bored the shit out of me though....
 
As I said in the frown thread yesterday my Xbox 360 pulled the red ring of death on me :( apparently the turn around time is 6-8 weeks now!
 
Red ring of death? sounds horrible..

I played insurgency again this weekend. it's more realistic than Iraq.

just returned mine last month. its around 2-3 weeks more accurately.
 
The new episode of Pure Pwnage has been out for a few days now. Has anyone else seen it?

It was a rather shaky process and it would be nice if Blizzard allowed for a better and more secure way of doing the transaction.


I had to create a Paypal account and advertise the character on www.realpoor.com

Pretty much just listed my character and its items as well as screenshots etc etc. Had it up there for $200 starting bid with a $350 buyout on a 5 day auction.

In the end I got 2 responses... one for $200 and one for $250. Then I had to email my armory link over to one of them so he could look through. Finally we agreed to meet in-game for an inspection.


After all that was good I invoiced him via Paypal and when I got word that he had paid the $250 I emailed him over my login, password, CD keys and my "secret question answer" so he could do a character transfer.

Then I swapped over email contact in the account management page and it was done.


Plenty of things could have gone wrong, but it seems as though we were both legitimate. The site does warn you though about scammers so you have to be careful. There is definately a risk.


Oh and if you do submit screenshots, be sure to photoshop in some black squares over anything that could identify you in-game. Blizzard likes locking down accounts that are to be traded I hear.

In my opinion the winning contender would have to be Left 4 Dead.

Created by Valve (Half Life 2) and Turtle Rock (Counter-Strike) the soonish to be released Left 4 Dead throws you inside a cityscape to work as a team with 3 other human players (so no Rambo shenanigans) as you make your way from point A to point B after a zombie infestation.

The zombie AI is controlled by this new thing they call "The Director" who alters the way the enemies flow within the level every time based on the choices you and your team of ZombieSurvivors make through the level... one day you wil go down a passage and open a door without encountering a soul..

The next day when playing as you walk down the very same passage, the door at the end could suddenly burst open as hordes of zombies charge at you to give you a good ole shakedown.

To make the game even more sickeningly awesome, there are four other "Super Zombies" with different special skills controlled by opposing human players. Their entire objective is to hunt down the team of four humans and help the swarm of undead pick them off one by one.



Really you have to think of it as a training program... because I would say chances are good that soon the zombies, robots or aliens will attack. It is best to be as prepared as possible.

I know I would want someone with thousands of virtual zombie scalps hanging off their belt watching my back in that situation...

... well them or a Green Beret. But I am not that picky.

I just bought Ninja Gaiden Sigma

I've never played a game this difficult in my entire life
 
I'm so addicted to the Resident Evil series after buying them all on Gamecube that I will probably buy an XBox 360 just to play Resident Evil 5.

Thankfully it's not scheduled to be released until 2009 so the console will probably be cheaper then.
