as most of you regular posters know my story

i ended up scheduling my surgery for april 29th for cubital tunnel decompression surgery

http://www.neurosurgerypa.com/procedures/Ulnar_nerve_decomp.html

feel free to read

anyway the doc gave me tramadol pre surgery for pain

and i love opiates but still understand the pharmophyscological aspect of them

i noticed this also when i had a strained muscle in my back

tramadol works good for nerve and muscle problems

it wont make you high
the side effects suck
but it works

not on fucking broken arm pain

but if you pulled a muscle or if you have a pinched nerve
it is awesome

i just feel like people are on either side of the fence with this one

either love it or hate it

but really it works if you use it properly

now on to the oxy after surgery

glad that it works for you. a lot of my family members use it legitimately, and they arent too happy with its painkilling power normally. my mom says it is pretty good for muscle pain and stuff like that, but she said it gives her a headache. my grandma admits that it does nothing but make her feel better knowing that shes taken SOMETHING, shes been scripted it for decades though. however i must disagree that it can get you VERY high, and i know a couple dozen people that will tell you youre crazy for thinking otherwise, but a just about equal amount of people i know said they dont feel anything no matter how much they take. its a really odd hit or miss type of drug as far as recreational effects go.

edit- if i could chose between say 30 tramadol 50mg, and 30 percocet 5/325, id take the tramadol, with most opioids ill take a large dose and then continue to take smaller doses over and over again, with tramadol you neednt redose more than once, so theyll go much farther for me.

Tramadol is like a maintenance medicine for me, It has extremely weak opioid properties so if that's what your after with it, then move on. I like it more for it's SNRI qualities, it gets me up and going and makes me motivated to do stuff I normally am not too interested in, like cleaning the house and doing daily activities that are responsible and productive. It doesn't really get me "high" like say hydrocodone and oxycodone, but I like that part about it cause I couldn't really maintain being high all day everyday... but it makes me wanna do stuff and at the end of the day after taking enough there IS a light opiate feeling in my body that makes it easy to fall asleep with a smile on my face so that is a plus. it just sucks that the withdrawal syndrome from it is disproportionate after 4 months of doing it everyday, I had some of the most god awful withdrawals imaginable. Oh well.. I like how I function on it and that's what's important
Peace
