US Politics The trump impeachment thread

Well i would like the iranian regime to fall so the people can live in democary and not be killed by their government the cost of war is to great and would be to many people dead making it even worse off. Does the president even have the authority to call for strikes on foreign generals outside of war?

I guess so.

Apparently the Republicans want to follow the Clinton precedent of laying out specifics after the impeachment starts. But I’m guessing Trump won’t testify. It’s so maddening.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has the votes to quash Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer’s (N.Y.) demands to require additional witnesses testify at the start of President Trump’s impeachment trial.

Two key moderate senators, Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), on Monday evening backed McConnell’s position that the Senate should follow the precedent of the 1999 Clinton impeachment trial and defer until later in the process the question of calling additional witnesses.

This is an interesting piece, despite the title, in which readers of Politico explain why they stand with Trump on the issue of impeachment and more generally. Some of it is just MAGA, but other comments are thoughtful.
Why voters think Trump relates to them is a puzzle to me. Because he curses? Is a pandering, blustering fool? Why do people think Trump wouldn’t do anything to avoid them. Maybe they imagine that if they were rich, this is what they’d be like. Which is depressing.

Not sure if you're being serious here but that has struck me as similar to how Trump will repeat something over and over as if saying it makes it real. It's a very common talking point among Trump supporters but I've seen plenty of evidence to the contrary and none supporting it except select minority celebrities making a big deal about emphasizing how their support is proof of this assertion (Kanye West is the first that comes to mind).

Kanye wasn't in his right mind when he supported Trump. That was right after his breakdown from mind control happened and he was just released from the hospital. His handlers were leading him in the wrong direction. Kanye is breaking away from those dark forces and on a different path now, thank God.

I certainly don't support Trump. There are some black people who do, but they are voting against their own best interest, just like Hispanics. The funniest thing that happened is seeing Hispanics celebrate after voting for Trump, then Trump shipped their stupid ass right out of the country. That's what you get for voting against your own best interest.

These 2 better be extra careful! I don't blame them for wanting out. Prince Harry must know the Queen is a baby eating psychopath...along with others. The Queen hated Princess Diana for not wanting to be a part of that evil. She ended up dead. It was planned all along. Prince Harry and Meghan need prayer. I've been praying for Jesus to push back the dark forces and keep them in His hedge of protection. Have the angels watch over them and their baby. 💖

The Beaverton! *insert Beavis N' Butthead laugh* Haha Beaver!

Hmmm...That's interesting though. I hope it's true. That article about how they're going to be punished gives me chills. Those monsters are capable of anything.
very droll.
Allegedly Harry is a bastard so not Royal annyway, who knows? He likes to dress up in Nazi uniforms he might actually be a true blood Windsor or Saxe-Coburgh-Gotha or whatever these Rothschild pets are really called.

will Ivanka escape from her cult next?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Nazi thing. These people are usually Nazis on top of being Luciferians. I still hope Harry and Meghan will be safe!

Ivanka is in too deep. She might not even want to escape. Some people are quite comfortable with the evil they are steeped in.

I think it is more a case of 8y of Obama and Progressives have made a portion of the public feel like nobody speaks for them, until Trump arrived. He'd say 3000 things, many of them contradictory, many more of them just don't make sense. But in the flotsam were things people could identify with and get behind, things they hadn't heard anyone speak to in nearly a decade. They'd been in the 'conservative' desert and found water. Might be poison water, but they drank it anyway. After the first term, if their standing by him, it may be they like that flavor of 'water', or at least can tolerate it, in hopes that he can overcome all those against him (and by extension, against those members of public who feel he is trying to do good on their behalf).

He says things racists and misogynists can get behind. There's plenty of those in this country and they came out of the woodwork when he started opening his big mouth. He gave them the "ok" while pretending he's against it. Any one with a brain can see he's no good and only a distraction.

Totally agree, C2C. I'm not saying that everyone supporting him is a bigot and misogynist, but just that he tacitly empowers such people and has had a very real and obvious effect on many Americans feeling emboldened to express those sort of attitudes.
