the thrill is gone! (from suboxone. how long to get it back?)

hi guys. been awnile since i've posted here, and since i've always gotten such great answers from my buddies here, i'll give this a shot! i was once a very heavy opiate user/abuser. i had gotten up to 30 10/650 lorcet a day. then found opana, and started snorting them, the 40's, several times a day. then, after a year or so of that, decided to quit. only problem was, i couldn't......
i quit all other forms of chemicals, including alcohol, which i would drink in the form of two bottles of wine a night!
so.....i got on suboxone, 8mg. films 2 - 3 times a day. suboxone has been the greatest thing in the world! only problem is this:
at first, i got a nice little buzz/euphoria rush from it. now, after a few months, i feel nothing at all from it...
i was lucky enough to get on this program where it is free, so i have 8 more months of getting it at no charge. after that, i will wean off, and do without.
but i would still love to get that buzz from it that was so wonderful. so, how long would i have to stop taking it to be able to then resume it, and feel that old familiar high?!!
has anyone else had this situation?
pls let me know, thanx!
remember it's the films, not pills, so there is very little chance of getting around that factor....
i.e., no snorting, chewing or plugging with films....
so how do i bring back that lovin' feeling?!!

subs and euphoria

I have been on subs for different periods of times throughout my addiction, I rarely would get and euphoric buzz from them. When I did I would just go cold turkey for around 5 days depending on the dose I was on then eat or shoot like 4 or 5 strips. another way is just wean yourself to a low dose and then take a large one. I'm not suggesting you do either. Everyones body is different in what it can handle. I was on 24mg a day back then. I'm trying to get back on them now but my old doc just wants to give me naltrexone, and I don't want to just take a blocker. Suboxone is a wonder drug, they make it so its hard to abuse it. However if you do shoot the stuff, watch out it ruins your veins like no other, makes them hard like a plastic tube. Be safe.

I've been in a sub program for like 15 months. I have no insurance so I'm self pay when I pick my up, because of that my doc actually put my on subutext. Straight buphnorphine tabs because they r a fraction if the cost compaired to suboxne its been a blessing and a curse. I'm assumeing u both knw what subutext is and how easy it is to abuse. I started shooting it after just a few months.I know the feeling man the first time I shot it it felt I shot up dope. If your looking for that nice feeling u get..honestly cut back. I don't kniw what your on or need. Wait till u feel the first sigm of wirhdrawl..you'll feel buzed then

You gotta lower your dose to 2 mgs or under preferably that way you get high like a full agonist in small doses instead of feeling nothing but side effects you actually get a buzz. I was on 12 mgs after coming off a 8ball a day China white habit and it kept me well but I felt shit the whole couple months on it then I found out how strong this stuff actually was when I seen people who get it prescribed for pain not heroin addiction they get it in doses of 0.2 mgs every 4-6 hours because that way it acts like a full agonist and kills pain better when taken every 4 hours because its only effective for pain for the first 4 hours its taken after that it only keeps you feeling normal. This is why high doses are pushed on to people who don't need it is so they won't feel high off their dose and so it acts more like a opiate antagonist instead of an agonist .(antagonist reverses opiate and blocks them off the receptors and opiate agonists are opiates themselves such as heroin ,buprenorphine, morphine, and methadone)
So many people don't realize how strong bupe is until they taper from a ridiculously high dose such as 12 or16 mgs down to a reasonable dose such as 0.25 mgs 3-4 times a day and find that they are getting higher and more doped up on 2mgs than they ever could have imagined while taking 16 mgs. The ceiling effect of bupe starts around 2mgs and at about 8 mgs anymore won't be noticeable to you in terms of getting high anymore you put into your body just causes nasty side effects such as headaches and constipation.

You can plug those thing too they are easier than pills. The films are all around generally easier to abuse unless you snort then you need to make a solution to snort. I don't know why they made them that way they are easier to IV than the pills(don't try it if you don't IV). I've never seen any strips before only read about them on here. I get the white name brand suboxone tablets shaped like a stop sign in 2 mg doses also got some 8s too but I get the 2s prescribed to me

I gave you your answer on your other thread. Your dose is ridiculously high so it blocks any euphoria you may have and from taking the bupe. Less is more get down to under 2 mgs and you will be high as hell again.

thanks for your response. yeah, i'm gonna try going a couple days without any at all. that is so damn confusing how the higher doses like 16 mg. a day won't do a thing, but you could actually get high off of 2 mgs!! WTF?!! but that's what i hear, so i'm gonna try. even after quitting all the hydrocodoe and oxies, and opanas, i got high as hell off of 4 or 8 mgs. it didn't take long at all to get a tolerance built up tho. as far as iv'ing, that is where i've always drawn the line. i've done it a few times in my life, but if i'd had that habit, i'd sure as shit be dead! these days, i'm doing pretty good, been off everything almost 3 years, just still crave that euphoric buzz once in a while. i've tried the plugging thing, but nothin happened. so, if i don't take any for 2 days, wil that be long enough? and just start out with 2 or 4 mgs? that whould help me be able to store up a little too. i get 60 of em free every month! pretty awesome, as it would usually be about 600 bucks! anyway, thanks you guys!
