The synth used extends duration of MDMA - true or false?

I read here on Pill reports a user commented that safrole synth extends duration.

It is common now that even 200mg dutch pills give 2hours max generally. I can recall a 3hour minimum trip from 90s Doves in 1/2 pill, which were allegedly 140mg. Although they did contain MDEA and amp.

Is this folklore or does safrole synth give longer duration? Not many people use safrole now, which would explain the duration issue.
 
I've never had a roll that lasted less than 4 hours.


I really doubt anyone here can give you an actual conclusive answer though. We can start a big discussion and argue for 20+ pages... but in the end we will know just about as much as when we started. Unless anyone here is a chemist and wants to try making MDMA through all the different methods and write a paper/study on it, we won't have anything but speculation to go on.



I think that PR member was just talking out of his ass.
 
no matter what the precurssor MDMA HCI is the same in durration. now there is talk that the different salts (other than HCI) of MDMA will produce longer or more intense effects but they each have pitfalls that make them bad choices for the common MDMA producer and user.
 
Of course the salt used will have an effect. Is magnesium oxide as bioavailable as citrate? No.

BUT, MDMA HCl is the most commonly used and I believe most bioavailable for most people. However, stomach acidity and other factors like metabolism can come into play when it comes to how long MDMA effects the user.

I wonder what it would be like taking freebase MDMA in a gelcap on an empty stomach. The stomach has HCl so it would probably start reacting right away, although I'd imagine it would be damaging to the lining of your stomach. Hmm.

What would be interesting is if a prodrug synth was used, kind of like vyvanse... bind the MDMA molecule to a protein.
 
I don't think its 'common' for 200mg MDMA pill to only give two hours? Even the report you linked the OP stated 3hours. Only one comment in that report suggested that the pill in question was short acting - it was also stated in that report that one lasted 7hours (taken in halfs).

You also have to remember that this was in the UK - the people discussing the effects are regular users so tolerance has got to be taken into consideration.

I second this. To me tolerance, rather than differences in synthesis, seems the more plausible explanation for varying duration of effects.
 
while i appreciate the input, i'm quite familiar with the rules. i'm not asking for information on a specific synth - i'm asking where he's getting his metrics on the different synths in use today.

i'd rather not assume and understand the issue from the op's point of view.

Well considering in the OP he stated he simply "heard it on PR", I thought that was rather obvious.. Like I said if some amazing chemist wanted to make all these different routes to MDMA and document them with controlled studies, this could be a great thread! But for now it's based on the speculation of one or two off commenters on Pill Reports, and I don't think the discussion can go much further than to tell Mark that "X X X" was most likely talking out of his ass lol..


Though I guess you're right, there is always new information that can be brought to the table, as this is a subject that could actually stir up some good discussion if there was anything to base it on, and that information can't be posted if the thread was closed :)
