Mods, if this thread belongs elsewhere, in OD for ex., please feel free to move it where you think it fits best.
I know there are quite a few threads on E and PE, but I could find none really satisfying (about the perceived differences in effects, in particular).
I'm interested in reading your opinions and experiences regarding the subjective (perceived) and objective (physiological evidence) differences between E and PE. Do you feel a difference when you ingest pure E versus pure PE? Is one (E, presumably) a little more CNS-active than the other according to research? I found no free medical article explaining these matters clearly, or with interesting details.
I find PE more effective as an anorectic, E makes me sweat more, PE seems to work better as a nasal decongestant than E, which in my experience seems to work better as a broncho-dilator and general CNS stimulant (obviously far from the CNS penetration of amphetamines derived from them, and with much greater peripheral effects, especially in high doses). Unless I take what is for me a high dose of E (45 mg and up), E doesn't affect strongly my appetite. I can eat easily with 30 mg of E down the hatch, while 30 mg of PE is sometimes enough to give me a 6-hour aversion to food. I don't take either of them on a daily basis.. after a 2-3 week break, 25 mg of ephedrine accompanied by coffee will give me a slight amphetamine-like euphoria.. which won't even be present if I re-dose the next day.
What about you guys? Any of you experience different effects when they take E or PE? Anybody have some interesting scientific info about the ma huang alkaloids?
