Seriously though, how could someone function AT ALL on a day to day basis? You couldn't eat, sleep, or pretty much do anything at all. Also, how can anyone verify this guy's claim? He may have done a lot, but 40,000? A bit hard to belive...
 
If anything this study seems to make a strong claim that ecstasy is pretty safe to the human body, if one can actually get to that 40,000th time in that short time period.

The fact that it didn't rot his liver out by around year 4 says something for the substance...
 
^Yeah good point. Hell, it this is true and someone could actually take 40,000 doses of MDMA over nine years and still be alive....that says something. If you took 40,000 standard doses of APAP imagine what would happen!!

I am sure that I have probably taken close to 40k individual doses (in percs and vics) of APAP in my liftetime and my bloodwork comes up good (liver enyzmes and all) Not at 25 x500mg or 25/350mg at one time, but I also bet that he wasn't eating the pills all at once... if he took 25 a day he probably had some sort of dosing / time / plateau formula figured out to be able to actually feel the effects of the drug to some extent at all times.... It's not so hard to understand, this guy is dumb, but he's just like the rest of us, he does stupid things that are bad for his body in order to feel good, who wouldn't want to be in that uber-euphoria all the time? I bet he was so fucking zonked he just forgot that something which felt this good could be this bad for his phsyiological wellbeing...:\

Even if he had shitty pills containing more Meth than MDMA, his serotonin levels would've still been shot to death a looong time before reaching 40,000 pills. And even if the pills were shitty and the MDMA was low in each pill, he was still supposedly taking 25 a day, so all that MDMA still adds up, and would still deplete serotonin and dopamine.

I've heard it said that methamphetamine hcl in addition to other things actually stimulates the PRODUCTION of dopamine and not just inhibits the reuptake or floods the receptors with the existing product... I have personally gotten high as fucking hell off of speed after smoking it for like 2 years straight up to almost a ball a day of good gak at my worst and although I'm sure my dopamine and seratonin was shot from that and all the rolls and pills and other shit, It still would get me incredibly fucked up.... Also I don't mean just cut, he could've been getting pure DXM, SPEED, 2cb or many other adulterated pills with no MDxx at all in them...8(

Pot is not gonna flaw a study all that much on a guy who took 40k pills in 9 years, it wasn't the weed, 'nuff said...

It seems pot had something to do with it. It at least seem to make the permanent disabilities worse.

I just did the math, for anyone who hasn't... and it works out to like 12.18 pills per day, 365 days a year, for 9 years. That equals 40,000.

Once again... *12* pills a day, EVERY day...

If this is true, then I'd say ecstasy is a lot safer to our bodies than previously thought. Otherwise, I presume, he wouldn't have made it past the first few years, right?
 
Anything that produces more variables does flaw a study, though this study had almost no controls and wayyyy to many variables. You can't even get an ld-50 of a substance with just one person. Nothing can be concluded from this, except someone can eat 40,000 pills within X years without dying. Got only knows what other shit he was doing, as well as what other drugs were in the pills. I doubt he even knows how much E he took. Unless they have credible witnesses, then they are just going on someone who was dumb enough to drop 25 pills a day. Someone that dumb can't be trusted. Lets also not forget that 40,000 pills doesn't really mean shit if noone knows how many mgs were in them. I also doubt they were even reagent grade, so god only knows what fillers and contaminants they had.
 
A conservative estimate of the amount of pills I have taken since March 7th, 1997 is around 3,000 .... most of that use was back in the early days (from early 1997 until about 2000) ... it was not uncommon to go to a rave, take 20 pills then hit an after party and take another 10 or so in the same day.... then living in Florida where the rave scene was peaking often after parties would last all week long and when I would go party at a larger dealers house it was very easy to consume 10-20 pills a day .... then after a break when I started back up about 2 years ago I went through a period where I was taking 10-15 pills a day (well, 24 hour period) for prolonged periods of time... if I think back to some heavy use periods I calculate my use at around 3,000 pills ... in the last 2 weeks I have consumed around 20 pills total, but it's not hard to conceive someone taking 3,000 pills over 9 years ... 40,000? I would say it's possible but I always had to take a break after a few days when it got to the point that I needed to take 6-8 pills to keep my roll going....

Maybe a little Drain Bramage? Perhaps, at least I am not passing out into glass coffee tables and needing stiches anymore ... overall I fel the good 3 years I took off the pills (when I was STRICTLY IV narcotics) helped the serotonin systems recover a good bit...

Now I just roll when I am bored or I want to make a lame TV show more interesting.....

And note I said "3,000 ecstasy pills" as in 3,000 pills sold as ecstasy, and while I excluded the pills that were just totally bunk, I know I have taken everything you could possibly press into a pill, but I would say at LEAST 2,700 of them had an MDxx componet as the key chemical .. of the other few hundred, well, some shit that I took I still wonder what it was....
