The Straight Edge Movement..??

To be honest, ive lost all respect for the Straight Edge scene.

Its not for the fact that they don't use, hell I don't care, who am I to judge? It's their life, let them do as they please.

I have lost respect for them because they a.) push their message onto others, and b.) use violence to do so.

In no way is pushing your views on others, and using violence to get your message across the right means of action for anything.

rednecks/country boys like to poke fun at hippies n shit but nothing like what seems to be described in this thread, and rednecks/country boys do all sorts of drugs
 
One year in highschool the "Straight edge," hand marked and all crowd started showing up.

we had fun getting all of them on (vastly overpriced) drugs.

They were violent and threatened to narc out one of my buddies and me for having pills at a punk show. . .
 
Straight edge kids simply get bashed if they look down on druggies in Aus.
but I support the druggies with that, it's our choice so why the hell should the straight edge kids have to interfere?

i agree. i was never one of those that looked down upon others for doing drugs or whatever, nor would i ever push my beliefs upon anyone. So i know first-hand that although there are a lot of pompous militant assholes, a lot of sXe kids are not.
 
I just don't understand the need to go around acting like a cunt just because you don't do drugs and go around pushing your beliefs down everyones throats. I mean ive been friends with people who have never touched a drug or a smoke before in their lives but they arent straightedge. They just didnt do drugs and wouldnt accept the joint or a line if it was passed to them. Whats so hard about acting like that?

Also whats with the no sex thing? You would have to have something seriously wrong with you not to want to get laid. I think it's just a cover up for the fact that they couldnt get laid in a brothel with their cock sandwiched between a visa and mastercard because they are so pathetic!
