Hey everybody,

Im sure a lot of you, me included, have quite a collection of drugs, both legal and illegal. To me its like a hobby, I just love collecting them, especially something new and rare. Anyways my question is this, "In the eyes of law enforcement are we drug dealers?" I never sell my drugs, though I do give them away to friends when we trip together. Im just wondering if they would realize they were for personal use, or if it would automatically be considered drug dealing? Thanks for the replys
 
^ are you sure? i know a few friends who have been busted for having over 1/4 oz of weed (1/4 is the what they consider more than personal use) and charged with dealing even without baggies and scales. ( they werent selling ) different drug i know... but i think it depends on the cops. i think having a high amount of drugs will get you in bigger trouble. i could definitely be wrong though.
 
^It depends on the location and the drug. 1/4 oz of weed is low for most of the USA, IIRC.

(In Minnesota, 42.4 grams is the cutoff, apparently... )
 
42.4? that's an odd number, there must be a reason.

Anyways, OP, I believe it would be distribution if they found out you had indeed been giving it out to friends. But think of substances and the quantities...I'm assuming it's quite varied, trypts, phens, stims, etc...In low quantities in comparison to what would be considered an amount for traffic.
 
well technically it depends on how much stuff your carrying, if the cops an asshole then if you had lets say a quarter of boom kush. 1. he will take that shit (you can cry now :( better that u didnt lose an ounce lol). and 2. he could say a quarter is too much for personal use, and you could be selling it. but you could fight the charge and say you bought it for yourself to bring home w.e. but still i think any more then a quarter or an eighth like u guys say in the states, would probably get u trafficking charges, especially in the US, with the war on drugs, etc. now if you have other drugs lol, like me for instance ive been using OCs for so long, my tolerance is so high,i can kill an 80 in one shot, 2 80s to feel high. so i need to use everyday or im fucked... but if i walk around with 10+ 80s, first thing thats dumb and second they would take it and probably toss you in jail, unless you tell them your fucking so addicted and try to stop, but u cant and ur a junkie. but hell, most ppl who do drugs regularly, either work or most of them work and they sell stuff on the side. like me i dont chop to ppl. i just hook up my friends if they need something and i can make a quick buck on the side. plus i work. so i can support my habit. but its bad. Oxycontin is the worst, because of how quick your tolerance shoots up and because its close to as bad as heroin, hard to stop. im about to rail an 80 and then a line of k. or i think k first would be better. and ease into a nice opiate high. goodnight lol its 5 am. this half ball of blow got me staying up all night. blow is the best of all drugs. mdma is cool too but just once in a while. takes too much of a toll on ur body. srry for highjacking ur thread lol. peace
 
In the UK, the offense is supply, not selling.
If at any point a classified substance passes from your possession into anothers, then that is supply.
There is also an intent to supply charge based on quantity of drugs in your possesion.
 
As you describe it I see no difference between supplying and selling, its both giving it to another (passing) in return for money right? (Or not if you're a sort of druggie santa)
 
Giving it away is supply but not selling. On drug information day or whatever it was at school we were told that passing a spliff could be considered supply.
 
In australia if you carry your weed in Baggies, own scales with evidence they have been used for drugs then you are possessing, but I think there is a limit as well i'm just not too sure what it is.
 
In most states in the U.S. giving away a drug is still considered distribution, doesn't matter if money is involved. And if a law enforcement official happened upon a scale & container of white powder, someone's getting arrested for distribution, most likely.
 
I wish I could hold on to drugs long enough to have a collection :( my collection is imprinted in my brain's neurochemistry ;D
 
I probably would if we lived in a world understanding of our lifestyle choices....

But that is not the case and if for whatever reasons that was found by police I would rather not be arrested for more than 20 drug felonies.....

Thats a long time in prison for drugs you could have just eaten.....
 
handing over drugs for free is still supply. in uk, that is clear cut. test cases have even shown if a person looks after someone else's drugs, handing them back can be considered supply! but if drugs are taken from a communal pool (such as passing a spliff around members of a group) no supply offence has been committed.
