what gorgeous little man! i love his outfits :D i saw a little one last week at a play area in suspenders. i almost died! =D

aw! i am 16 weeks pregnant soooo nervous but very excited :)

Congrats hun! Motherhood is amaaaaazing! I love having my little man here with me, i can't imagine life before him now... I was content and happy before, but now i feel complete in this new chapter of life. I know how nerve wracking it is, but mothering is sooo natural. It's amazing how strong our intuition becomes. You'll see :D

My bub is now 8.5 months old and i STILL miss being pregnant. I swear it's bloody nature doing this to me, hormones n' shit. The fact i am still breastfeeding probably isn't helping with the cluckiness!

Babies rock, seriously. I had no idea how awesome and animated they are until I have had my own.

Mrs. MDAO most certainly does not miss being pregnant, and is about as done with breastfeeding as one can be. She's a wonderful mother, but with three at once, just doesn't relate to that whole "feeling like a provident earth mother goddess" feeling that other women her age who've been pregnant talk about. She chalks a lot of this reported feeling up to the increased attention other people, including strangers, tend to shower upon the pregnant, and the subsequent ego boost. Being an introvert, she never craved such attention.

My three little ones are 11 months old today. The two girls each have two lower incisors, and they're eating solid food now. The prep and cleanup for this are such chores, compared to bottle feeding! My son is almost walking -- he's able to support himself by the fingertips of one hand on a piece of furniture, and use his other hand very dextrously to do whatever he wants. :)

All three of them are producing vocal utterances that sound more and more like words and sentences, and they mimic adult vocalizations with great joy. I sang "Little Bunny Foofoo" to my one daughter, and right after I'd point at her and say "I'm gonna turn YOU into a goon!" she'd look at me and say "Goooooon!!!"

We've babyproofed two large rooms of our house, and let them spread their toys out between them, so they've got plenty of room to play. They're big fans of toys with buttons that produce lights and sounds when you press them.

Unfortunately, they seem transfixed whenever a TV or computer screen is playing video. I think the video production industry must be hiring psychology majors and other human behavior experts, who know how to produce video that holds our attention at a primal level, in a way that few, if any, natural stimulus can compete with. It's kind of corollary to the ethical issues raised by MDMA -- if no natural happy experience can compete with that neurotransmitter rush, and one's first good roll is guaranteed to be the high point of a person's life, then is someone who values the little pleasures in life better off never taking it? I'm not implying there's one right answer to this, in the case of either media or drugs. I'm just saying it's an issue I've seen raised before, and one worth considering.

my parents didn't have a television in the house until i was 12. i am grateful for this. sure, i miss a lot of pop culture jokes and i don't have any warm fuzzy teenage mutant ninja turtles memories, but i think i'm better for it. i'm conflicted about other things. our friend from scotland lets her little one use the iPad all the time, and she's the most little adult child i've ever met. she's about 15 months old and can identify all kinds of things that i'm sure i couldn't at that age. but television concerns me, and if i ever have a child, i do not want to have a tv in a place where they can access it.

MDAO I can totally understand your Mrs not missing pregnancy - carrying 1 baby is hard enough work let alone 3! Not all women actually get the same feelings of missing pregnancy straight after giving birth, but it is actually a hormonal thing and very common. In my case definitely not for attention purposes, in fact one thing that i hated during my pregnancy was people constantly wanting to talk to me about my pregnancy, and being general sticky beaks :) Oh and the running over to rub my belly... hated it! Used to drive me insane, it was extra bad at my work as i worked full time through my pregnancy which was a drainer.

Its the feelings of the baby kicking and the creation of life inside of me that i am missing now, so it's personal reasons for me.(can't speak for other women though). But mind you while I was pregnant with my son i couldn't wait for it to be over! We plan to have 3 kids hopefully, so maybe that's also why i am still clucky :) Your Mrs has manage to get 3 out of the way in one hit so that could maybe play a part too! I know i sure would be done with it all if i got all our babies out in one go!

Oh yeah and with the solid food, its basically like turning on a blender with the lid off - food just goes everywhere! That times 3 would be full on!

MDAO! <3 It's so wonderful to see you on here, thank you for giving us an update :) I'm glad your little ones are thrving and you and Mrs MDAO are surviving ;) It must be a total trip having triplets. I'm sorry, my mind is mush at the moment; can you tell me again whether they are all paternal or if you had 2 eggs with one split, etc? One of the women i've been undergoing IVF with recently gave birth to triplets - 2 paternal and 1 fraternal. All went well, and as you can imagine, she's over the moon/scared shitless/absolutely exhilerated. :)

Good to see you too, Samadhi! :)

No IVF for us. Ours was a natural occurrence. True story.

Still, my heart goes out to you and all couples who are trying IVF. It's costly, not only in money but also time and lifestyle-wise, as you're finding out. Plus it's a terrifying emotional rollercoaster, especially with the non-negligible odds of getting more than one kid, or none at all. Asherman's syndrome definitely doesn't help when you're trying to have a baby. Can be pretty painful too, from what I remember learning, no?

We had two identical daughters and one fraternal son. In other words Mrs. Doors kicked out two eggs at once that month, and one of them split after being fertilized. The former is clearly the woman's doing, and runs in families, while I hear tell the latter is an effect of the man's sperm. I guess overachievers mate non-randomly. =D

My son is in prep and they have a class dinosaur called Dino that every child has to take home, take a photo of and paste in a large scrap book "what they did with Dino". Most of his class took Dino to the park or played with him on the trampoline.

This is what we did....

"Dino had a fight with Mothra and King Kong in a lego city"

^ That whole concept makes me genuinely happy. :D

Your son surely will grow up with no lack of creativity!

Samadhi, my heart goes out to you. Your strength shines through in your posts and you should be proud of yourself. You've already proven that you're going to be an amazing mother and that your children are going to be the luckiest on the planet to have parents like you and Pop. I have my fingers and toes crossed for you, dear. <3 <3
