hey !

swim's going to synth N-t-butyltryptamine aka NtBT. This is known to produce light-headed intoxications similar to GHB but it has no history of human use...

Anybody tried NTBT or other N-monoalkylated-tryptamines ? what about the dose ? the effects ?

Swim ask you for the dosage : what first dose to choose ? 0.5mg? 1mg or more ? Is Smoking freebase safer than swallow its salt ?

Unfortunately I can't provide you with any information whatsoever. But thanks for doing this, if indeed you are able to synthesize what you claim.
 
On dosage, if you get a fair amount.. then start with 1-2mg and work up to active doses, especially with something not many have encountered before.
 
If I'm understanding you correctly, you mean N-tert-butyltryptamine. Where there is one alkane group, tert-butyl, on the nitrogen. From what I understood all of the mono-aklylated tryptamines were inactive due MAO. However, in could be that the tert-butyl is large enough to stericly protect the vunerable amine from MAO.

As far as dosages goes I have no idea but I would start low, as in 0.5 mg or less and work my way up by double the dose every couple of days.

Swim will start at 500 ug and double the dose for the next day if any effect is percepted.

Recently, SWIM has seen that NTBT is very potent when it is smoked.

500ug smoking dose.
1 mg eating dose.

SWIM is actually searching the best method to decarboxylate the tryptophane into tryptamine freebase.

If it works like GHB I'd have to assume CNS depressant?

There are many tryptamine , and a few strange ones such as 5-Fluoro-AMT.

this week, im going to try decarboxylation of tryptophane by the copper-chelate route. Tryptophane-Cu-chelate decarboxylated in DMSO, exctract with MEK and finally purified with water/IPA to give tryptamine freebase.

Alright! Good to hear you're taking care of business instead of that Swim character. I was pretty sure Swim couldn't be doing all the work anyway since Xorkoth and the mod staff carried out Swim's execution a few months back.

I'm interested in the NTBT results ... keep us updated. :D
 
No effects orally up to 20mg,says the older erowid printout."Psychedelische Chemie" says as well >20mg.Nothing first hand or other reports.Curious if the t-Butyl group alters the subjective effects.

I recently received t-butanol for t-butyl iodide synthesis. But I have some problem to order cyclohexanol and cyclohex-2-ènone, I'll try to purchase from an other chem shop.

NTBT will probably synthethised for april :)

I've some problems with Tryptamine decarboxylation. I tried to decarboxylate it by heating it in NMP (1-methylbutyrolactam) . I noticed an evolution of CO2, but when the NMP has been removed, I obtained a dirty brown glue, its odor reminds me Indole. I coudnt find any good solvent to cristalise out.

I bought acetophenone : it seems to be an exelent solvent. I've received DMF, t-Butanol, HBr, ... but acetophenone is actually out of stock (I buy from France) :(
I ask my friend to give me a bit of acetophenone. coming soon...

However t-BuBr has been successfully synthetised from tBuOH and HBr :)
 
whatever happened..? is this shit a GABA agonist or something is it more akin to the narcotic effect of certain indole psychedelics like LSA?
 
There is a GHBesque RC "Coming Soon" from certain websites that sounds similar. Well... has butanol or butanadol in the name which gets a mention above and it apparently feels like GHB anyway. Quite probably not the same but was what leapt to mind when I saw this.

Any further discussions should probably skirt the synth talk though.
 
zonk, there is very little chance that NTBT is a GABA agonist. much more likely that it is isolating some particular sedative or antidepressant effects that may be present in other indole psychedelics, with a completely muted psychedelic/visual profile.

Consider the psychoactive activity of other N-tB compounds, for example wellbutrin (bupropion). it is essentially the N-tbutyl homolog of 3-chloromethcathinone, but has entirely different subjective effects while still inhibiting the reuptake of DA/NE

though i must say, good job bringing up an old thread that has no information on a compound that doesn't look interesting in the slightest ;)
 
well it looks pretty interesting to me. a potent fully psychoactive mono n-alkylated tryptamine that produces a strong n pleasant buzz. What that buzz consists of is what i was hoping someone could shed some light on, but yer right, there's too little info out there to get an answer probly
