I was watching the show " Jail" and saw that in las vegas they were all watching t.v the people being booked and waiting to see a bail judge..Well,to me that is a joke and awesome !! I was locked up in a rehab once for simple assault and saw no judge, just arrested taken back to the station and given a summons..In philadelphia simple assault is the same misdemeanor heroin is..The thing is in philly when your locked up especially in the bad parts your in a 10 by 10 cell with at least 4 other people.Theres a small 5 foot steel bench that someone or two always takes..So im on the concrete for well, its never been less then 19 hours to worst 3 days..i

And after 6 hours you get fingerprinted, then 5 hours later you do a bail interview for them to see how much money would be appropiate if you have bail, then finally 6-15 hours your waiting to see the bail commisioner on a cctv..And the worst was my last arrest for DUI..It took a day to see the judge, and i called my mom to drop off bail..So theyre supposed to give you 4 hours to make bail before they take you to county jail..So 10 minutes after i see the judge they take us over there..Turns out they were doing raids to find someone to talk about a murder that took place and were so packed..So get this when you leave the district your loved one cant post bail until your processed in county jail..So i get there and theres 95 people in front of me..We all have to take a urine, get blood taken, and get a shower..Then after all that, after your processed my mom could post bail then it takes 4 hours at county jail cause theres only certain times they release people..It was almost 78 hours..Which my bail was like 250 bucks..

So what your areas process for simple possession or dui..How long are you locked up for till you can make bail basically..

in alaska we can make bail immediately unless your on probation and need to see your p.o prior. If not you talk over the phone w the magistrate as they write up your charges then you go sit in a big square waiting room with 8 holding cells along the walls and if you can't make bail they put you in there if you can you sit in in big room and watch tv while the people in the holding cells stare at you. Theres 4 pay phones there too. They only take your photo and prints, urine etc is taken if youre actually processed in the next day, same with ca.
In california its same way with bail but men and women are immediately in holding cells and separated.

California loves to fuck with you and will wait sometimes a day to process your bail. In alaska I was out in 2 hours for possession.

Wow,thats a joke to me man..I mean i cant believe what hell they put you through in philly just to see the bail commisioner. Then usually now with my priors i get bail and thats another 6 hours of hell..So youll be lucky to get out in under a day at least..And my legs and whole body are so soar..I thought that was awesome in vegas, but i guess alot of jails work like this..

I just dont understand after they know who your not a hardcore criminal they cant give you a summons. Then they give you a court date, and that court dates just gives you a court date for trial and where your lawyer gets the discovery.Im surprised no one else has brought up what hell it is in philly town.

The only time I've been arrested & booked, I sat handcuffed to a pole on a bench in the police "office"/precinct place for approximately 8 hours while coming down off of cocaine watching the police officer do his paperwork and eat donuts. They didn't put me in a cell because there was already a raging male crackhead in there and I was a minor and female and not raging. Before I wound up cuffed to the pole, they searched me, took my shoe laces & possessions, fingerprinted me, took my mugshot and then cuffed me to that godforsaken pole to contemplate the brick wall in front of me, I guess.

I had to pee for about 4 hours and no one would let me (their excuse was that there was no female officer to accompany me... UHHH, what about the female officer who searched me?!?!) ... so I had to wait until my mom showed up, to whom they released me. They gave me back my shoelaces and other possessions that weren't confiscated and I took the best piss of my life and ate a tuna sandwich from Blimpie's that my mom bought me because I didn't eat or drink or use the bathroom for such a long period of time.

Thanks, Mom, for not pushing me into the train tracks after putting you through all of that bullshit.

The NYPD: Not known for their hospitality, but it could have been a great deal worse and I am certainly not complaining. I am lucky to have been released on my own recognizance and not have to have gone to Central Booking/the Tombs/whatever...
