why is it when you come off of opiates you get the shitz, is it a chemical your body stops producing or is it an organ or something that stops doing its job

oh hell yeah!!! when you do them for like months on end then stop, you can blow yourself right off the toilet.
doing dope always plugs me up for some reason. Sometimes I won't shit for a day or two.wierd

You honestly didn't know this is one of the major side-effects of opiates? For patients on long term opiates, hospitals will often include a laxative because the constipation can become horrendous.
I'm not sure why you get the squirts after stopping- besides it being some kind of rebound effect. I've also noticed that when I start to quit or reduce, I cough a lot. Again, opiates are a great cough suppressant and I chalked it up to a rebound effect when going off.

the shits? god damn..... i wish coming off heroin gave me the shits. usually ill take like one shit a week now because of the disel... and thats only when ive stopped for a few times,, and let me tell you it aint no shits kind of shit.... i mean can anyone say turtle head? bleeding painfully child birth like turtle head.
 
I never had this problem with recreational use... but when being blissed out becomes a full-time endeavor (and then stop), you can expect all the opposites of what you loved... cold sweaty skin, explosive runs, muscle aches, and a greater sensitivity to pain.
Immodium works wonders for the shits. But you'll need more than usual.
 
OXYCONTIN never gave me problems with constipation but with HEROIN, i def98nitely suffered fromit...also, several times it seemed like it took me 30 minutes to tsakre a damned piss while under influence of HEROIN...
it seems like all the opposite feelings happen to you while under opiate withdrawals...while high on OPIATES, u can relax, skin feels great, no pain in your body BUT when u run out of OPIATES, the table gets turned and the nasties appear.....like above, the nasty sweaty skin, the shits, NO SLEEP, no concentration, NON STOP BAD MOOD etc etc...

o.k. I ususally just lurk, but this time I'll share something just for informations' sake...when I kick, I get constipated as opposed to the runz, I didnt know why for the longest time then I figured it out: I was snorting it...this seemed to keep my sinuses clear. Then when I'd stop, I'd get really gummed up and all mucuosey, and I would swallow all this snot, which dosent really digest at all...also, if I was strung out for a month or more, it seemed like my body adjusted to it, I was uhhh "regular" then. But, it also dosent make me throw up so maybe I'm just a mutant..yeah..I think anything might be normal with the opiates for anyone.
 
yeah kell, thats actually a documented withdrawl symptom, too, which i read in an opiate withdrawl white paper. i get them really bad when im coming down.
 
Yes opiates constipate you. Your kidneys actually have mu-opiate receptors in them and taking opiates significantly reduces kidney motility (i.e. how fast they push things through). I don't think (byt don't quite remember) that they directly increase the amount of water recovered from your kidneys. There was a long thread about this in health (search for diuretics I think) and gasbo provided a very detailed explanation.
Actually this is exactly how Immodium AD=Loperamide works. It is a fairly strong mu-agonist but doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. It is unfortunate that no one has come up with some simple steps to transform it into a chemical which does cross the BBB.
As with most effects from drugs you get tolerant to these kidney effects. Thus when you stop taking opiates you get the shits.
 
this is definitley true in my case. i do dope everyday a few times a day for months now. i get very constipated from it. i can go a couple days without shitting sometimes. i use to go daily no matter what
 
when i did H daily, i would get stopped up so bad I'd use some kind of ex-lax, but my last resort was glycerine suppositories at the the local CVS. It kind of sucks, but it'll clear you out in about 15 min.
 
opiates slow down the muscles in your intestines which causes your shit to back up in your intestines and when you are in withdraw from opiates your body isn't used to not having the drugs to slow down the muscle therefore they go crazy and start pushing the shit through real fast and you get cramps and your shit will shoot out like water, it's almost like you're pissing out brown piss from your ass, it's disgusting, same with pissing, it relaxes your muscles that make you able to piss which are the same ones that let you blow a load that's why while on good ol' boy (heroin) you have trouble blowing a load in your girlfriend (or spanking it) and pissing in the toilet.
 
Stimulants do the opposite of causing constipation. Glass, speed or even just caffeine makes me take a healthy shit. When I'm constipated I drink lots of pepsi and that solves the problem.
