I have heard that Salvia is an EXTREMELY powerful disassociative and can make you not recognise objects and even close friends and family. However can you actually experience real visuals? As in acid or shrooms.

Yes. Very real visuals, quite graphic as well, my own experience was quite disturbing, and i do not recommend using too much at too high of a strength until you are quite certain you want to proceed.

I would say gears and conveyor belts is kind of the overtone of whatever is infront of you at the time, don't look at peoples faces on this stuff

Have relived a past memory though which was very very relaxing and calming, i was then transported to an eternal blackness where a giant gargoyle creature carried me, in a box... this box was essentially the room i was sitting in, so, it was an OBE...
Auditory hallucinations also became apparent. The gargoyle was calling to "Shiva", the salvia spirit, to come and fuck with me due to me thinking "this isnt all that freaky".
On another occasion, as i was watching TV while taking a hit of salvia, i became engulfed in the show, my entire field of vision was this show, i was convinced the show was talking to me, asking me why (Funny thing is, the show actually was saying "why" as a person in the show was being interogated)... When i snapped out of it, i was very disoriented and angry and asked my friend (during the experience, he wasnt there to me, it was as if he vanished, the visuals were too strong to see him) what the "why" was about, as i did this, i made a fist... He started acting confused and kinda scared, after which, my anger subsided by seeing him becoming uncomfortable and i sighed out "What the fuck!!??" (i was very exhausted) and started laughing.

Salvia visuals in my case can just be putting objects in the room in a different context...say
I was looking at my ceiling which was comprised of even square tiles. The perception of my body was oddly limited to the amount of squares forming my shape and adjacent to me on the ceiling. So I had a head tile and a shoulder tile and two arm tiles and 2 torso tiles one hip tile and 3 leg tiles which were actually just the tiles which lined up at me that i was watching...but I thought I WAS what I was seeing yet I felt my body so it was represented thusly
I became confuse and wondered why i wasnt falling, because my feet werent on anything...i assumed the direction my feet were...was indefinitely down. So I wondered how I was holding on to the wall, which was the bed which was actually touching the side of my body as i look beyond my feet and wonder why i'm not crashing 15 feet downwards out the open kitched door on to my refrigerator.
Salvia reliably changes the angles of my perception every time I smoke it depending on which way my "forward" face is at that time.

The conveyor belt, gears etc... theme on salvia is indeed very true.
On my last journey into salvia land i inhaled, closed my eyes, and was sucked down a tunnel type thing. It was like i fell down that giant pit in the movie 300 where Leonidas kicks the messenger and says "THIS IS SPARTA!.
I then found myself in a dark room where, lo and behold, a fucking conveyor belt was directly in front of me turning at a decent pace. There was also a man in front of me and a man to my right. I had an overwhelming sense that they wanted me "to get back to work". It was as if they were in charge of me.
After this mind fuck, my world seemed to brighten and i was completely engulfed in these incredible patterns, patterns of colors weaving together like a basket over and over again. The closed eye visuals lasted about 20 minutes, a surprisingly long time for salvia imo.
