people need a reminder this is a harm reduction site, that exists for informational purposes for drug users' personal research. it does not exist to conjecture about your personal theories you have about drugs, that might be fine every now and again, but due to the intent and overarching purpose of this site, there is a strong need for any "theories", advice, etc to be in line with scientifically/medically valid thought on the subject, as well as with the subjective experiences of the people who have done these things before successfully. it is a balance.

The problem is that there is no other place that seems practical for discussion of these alternative considerations. We know that because The Esoteric Pharmacology Project referenced earlier didn't ultimately survive, which was the closest website I've known of that was intended to be tailored to such considerations, and that was marketed here in the psychedelic forum of the world's largest drug forum. It appears on first glance, at least in the near-term, that pulling it off should be mediated by Bluelight in some still unknown capacity.

There are other places on the net to discuss substances, but many of them are simply awful, with little more than one-line posts saying '<insert chem> is crap. It's nothing like <insert other chem>. Only idiots would waste their time with <insert original chem>'.

Or, even worse - this is something that drives me nuts - page after page of questions which nobody answers. A question is simply ignored and followed by a different question, which is ignored, and on it goes.

It's disappointing that the other very large drug forum is slow to update, and lacks solid info. Additionally, it is to blame for the curse of the 'SWIM', 'my pet sloth', 'my dog's cabbage' insanity which persists with some users even today.

BlueLight is a huge site with so many different sections, most of which are updated regularly and generally well moderated. I've found most of the information here that I needed, even if it did sometimes require wading through a lot of pages of text.

Bottom line: It's a good resource. Make of it what you will.
