The Rave Experience v. Three dollars for fucking water?!?

ok, here is my rave-gear! my girlfriend made the flag with uv paint. it looked very good when the blacklights are on. she painted the android logo on because that was the pills we did that night. we got a lot of thumps up from people who understood it ;-) ... i guess we gonna make a new one for the next *SNIP* event 25th january

I used to not dress up because it always looked like more of a hindrance than anything. Some costumes are pretty out there, I can't imagine dancing like that. But there was a white party in my city recently called Pure and I did it up that time and it was pretty awesome, actually. Just have to make some light, non-cumbersome costumes for this year!

I've never bothered with beads, glowing gloves, vicks or lights and stuff.. it's always seemed lame to me I'd probably lose or break them at a rave anyway. chewing gum and rainbow diffraction glasses is retarded enough for me :)

I just can't be bothered carrying stuff tbh, I focus on the music and don't like bringing attention to myself. I'd find it embarrassing to be seen sucking on a dummy.

One year for Defqon a group of us all dressed up in matching outfits, that was fun and made it easier to find others :)

So, am I right in thinking most of the people who've posted in here prefer the more intimate, smaller setting events?

I'd have to agree, I feel being with a small group of people you know very well will almost always beat being with a ton of random strangers. That's not to say you can't have fun both ways, because let's face it... as long as the music is good you're probably going to have an awesome time.

I actually love meeting new people, my group of friends typically go together, split apart and do our own things for a while and we end up like meeting 394820 new people to party with that night. I've made such good friends from shows and events :D...

And yes...Orlando just had its "first" hardstyle show here, and I'm hoping that more Hardstyle artists come to venues here

But when we do stick together its so amazing, we all look at each other while we dance and it feels so intense and great. Every night is a night to remember when I go out with the "family". Porter Robinson played a set at Pompano beach and on the way home (while I was still rolling BALLS) I went out of the sun roof and that moment like changed my life lmfao

Folley I was legit gonna go to that! But then shit went down between me and a girl and now that's not happening anymore... :S

I also had tickets to Darren Styles but once again not going :(

On a side note I'll be snagging my pre-sale tickets for *SNIP*! :D

nice Folley! I love Noisecontrollers, lots of good new tracks and their classic stuff is amazing too. I saw Darren Styles for the first time last month, awesome set and love that guy's music too

My upcoming music stuff : *SNIP* on 26 Jan (small nightclub event), *SNIP* on Feb 16 *SNIP* and apparently Brennan Heart is doing a tour here in March. looking forward to all of that :)

Would go just to see The Viper.

Saw brennan heart last year, he played too much lame sing along shit for my tastes.

brennan heart is a legend. that's why he is holding his own xqlusive show next weekend. there is few hardstyle producers that have made so may quality classic tracks.. and i honestly really like his commercial tracks as well. there is nothing like standing in the middle of the crowd and sing a long to "lose my mind" i bet you guys agree to. the lyrics are made for rollers ffs. "creepin towards the weekend, mdmable to shine!♪" epic.

anyways.. anyone else who is going to be in *SNIP* the 25th of january? 10 hour show and brennan heart is said to be on stage for 7hours.
cant wait B-) B-)

*SNIP*

You guys, just a reminder. Please don't discuss venues or specific upcoming events. I had to go through and edit just about every post in this thread. Discussion of specific events is prohibited for a number of reasons. Bluelight doesn't want to be seen as endorsing particular events or venues, promoters do not want their events linked to drug use, we don't want event shilling, the venue owners don't like seeing their venues come up on a drug discussion board, and on top of all of that law enforcement watches Bluelight.

Please keep within the forum guidelines so I don't have to issue warnings and close this thread. Thanks everyone!

Since the forum is in disarray at the moment with the server upgrade, here is the link to the forum guidelines: http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/124579-Ecstasy-Discussion-Posting-Guidelines

11 – No specific naming of future events where you will be taking drugs
This is to protect you primarily, but also the promoters throwing the event as well. You may explain that you are going to an event on a specific date, but please do not use the exact name of the event if you are also inferring that you will be taking drugs there (or discussing the drug taking habits of other people who will be attending).

^ I recently contested that rule.... and got no response. Bring it up in the modthread, it serves no purpose for you to have to edit all these posts and it just wastes everyone's time to dance around the subject.

But, I can see how naming the actual event could be problematic. Past events shouldn't matter though, it's in the past...

You're more than welcome to start a thread if there are rules that you would like to see changed, I am just enforcing the rules that we currently have.

As for the past, I agree with you as long as there are no venues. I tried to only remove things referencing future events and I apologize if I removed some talk about past events, it is kind of cumbersome to edit posts with the server issues at the moment so yeah.

^^ Yeah, I can't wait :) Brennan Heart is pretty commercial but he can produce some amazing tracks... sucks you didn't have a good time. I'm really hoping that rave will be something special as it's on Valentines day, the perfect day for PLUR :)

Over all i had a good time because i was with awesome people, i just would have went to another room to see another DJ had it been up to me but my wife wanted me to stay. The things we do for the ones we love =p

Unless it's summertime, it's usually jeans, nice shoes and a nice shirt, hair spiked up.... with glowstix. I know all the new kids are "gloving" these days, but something about glowstix man, it's like I always hafta bring them to any event. Oh, and usually water is five dollars in NYC clubs

Nowadays I would consider myself a "casual" raver, not that I was ever one to dress head to toe in candy and neon colors. When I was younger I usually just rocked no shirt and try and get as much candy from the females as possible, though not wearing them, they were more like souveniers lol. I don't really go to massives anymore since they stopped hosting them at the colloseum and they've pretty much become extremely overcrowded hipster fests... The last massive I went to was EDC Dallas 2012? and it was, ok I guess but it was certainly no EDC LA 2010, what a fuckin great time I had at that festival. Lol I must've gone through at least 12 OG pokes and a couple hundred dollars in those 2 days. Lately I just head out to the smaller raves or go to DnB nights at the local clubs and spin some glowsticks and have a few beers as the age group is more suited to my liking, passing by a bunch of young kids passed out on the floor puking from dirty pills gets rather old after a while.

I'm sorry for naming the events etc, tbh I didn't even realize that rule existed! I didn't mention taking drugs in my post either.. just music events I'm looking forward to. Agree with Folley, waste of time :/

Why are there forums named "Social & Events" where people specify venues and events all the time then?

Back to topic.. I've seen Brennan Heart three times - IQON 2013, Qontinent 2013 and Defqon 2013. Loved his set at Defqon last year, as the end show fireworks went off he played Acti & Jajox - Satana which was one of my favs at the time, great choice :) I enjoy his sing along tracks like F.I.F.O., Lose My Mind and Imaginary too, my gf really loves them and doesn't like raw tracks very much. I probably prefer Da Tweekaz sing along tracks actually

All of the events forums have been closed.

The fact that this thread is in the MDMA & Empathogenic Drugs forum gives an air of implied use of drugs at the event. We want to avoid that entirely.

If you guys have a problem with the rules, send a PM to us moderators with your concerns and we'll share them amongst ourselves to determine the best course of action to take. As it stands right now, the universal stance is that there should be no discussion of specific venues or upcoming events whether or not you are going to be using drugs at them.

Yeah I should've read through more the thread thoroughly B4 posting, sorry MK :/. I've tried to edit my post but apparently the edit function doesn't work, for me at least. If your even able to feel free to edit/delete my post to your liking...
