Bluelighter
There was a guy who wore a funky Diesel top
There was a girl who thought that guy was hot
There was a club – they met – and kissed the whole night through
There used to be a couple and that was me and you
They went out dancing and he partied all night long
Early the next morning she found her love was strong
He knew that she was falling so he tried to fall too
They might have had a future if they had made it through
Now that girl misses him because she is alone
It hurts because he has another lover with him in his home
She only has tears flowing where there was a heart
Since he decided that they really need to part
Now he has someone he feels he is complete
When that girl tries to dance her heart weighs down her feet
She tries not to think about him and all she locks away
Cos she knows he doesn’t have to try to forget those long gone days
Is he thinking of her still? Does he cry still, now and then?
Is she ever going to win back the man she loves again?
Is he really glad it’s over? Can he get on with his life?
Is he really so very certain that she only caused him strife?
Given all the laughter, fun and happy times they had
All her heartache, his lies, and times he made her mad
Given all her tears, her loneliness and pain
Given all the risks would she do it all again?
Can he really say he won’t want her back one day?
Does he prefer his life now it is this way?
Can he forget her pixie face, her mess, her giggles and her love?
How dare he find someone to love him more than she could love
Although she really loved him, she let him let her go
If he understood her feelings would he have hurt her so?
If only she were less stubborn, if she could care less
If only they’d never spoken that night there would be no sorry mess
Time has taken a prisoner – their lives are still entwined
Even if they never meet again the past isn’t left behind
Can she start all over? Just forget him and move on?
Even if she can will he be glad that she is gone?
Is it really what he wants to never see her face again?
Will it make him happy and will he live on without pain?
Will he keep on being proud of her not really knowing why?
Will it ever wrench his heart to see her with another guy?
Could she forgive him his faults and accept him as he is?
She wants to have him back and say there’s nothing to forgive
He’s told her he doesn’t love her and he’ll never want her back
But this girl loves him and she has to live with that
She wants to live in solitary to give her time to heal
The past is not yet over and the pain is still unreal
We don’t choose who we love and love doesn’t really die
But he can’t find love for her again he doesn’t have to try
She has the chance to leave town – forget him and move on
Will he ever cry? Be the one who has to be strong?
Will he cry as she did, night upon day
Will he try to call her up to try and get her to stay
I guess we’ll never know because that day will never come
Her only solace is that one day she’ll find her sun
She’ll forget that man with bright blue eyes and sunny smile
But she can’t forget just yet – that might take a while
