The Pot Legalization Scam

Imagine if you could get guns in the UK though, plenty of idiots who'd bust out some caps without a second thought.. :|

you're right. it should stay illegal so that everyone of us can go to jail for smoking a herb. :|

Open up the market and you will have a wider variety of strains to choose from.

Look at prohibition, pot is kind of along the same lines.

In the twenties people we're all drinking moonshine, bathtub whiskey and rum etc etc....when they legalized booze now theres all kind of fruity shit, lemonade beer for ex.

Pot is the same way, sure I'd love acess to hundreds of varifiable strains of both indica and sativa...but since its an illegal market and indica has better commercial properties thats all people end up with 9/10.

I'm hungry.. but yeah, nah.. this is totally a pothead thread through and through IMHO lol

is the reduction of products to the lowest common denominator, with a FEW higher-end options at grossly inflated prices, and with products which -- though in moderate demand -- would undermine the system itself ruthlessly suppressed by individuals acting individually.

You pretty much just described the commercial marijuana market as it -illegally- exists today. Underground, unchecked capitalism that makes a few people incredibly wealthy and fucks over everyone else in terms of pricing and quality, since most of what is grown commercially is garbage, let's be honest.

People seem to forget that legal or illegal, one is always going to be able to "grow yer own". It could be argued that if one wants to truly protest capitalism, it would be better to take this approach than to pay a highly inflated price for an HERB. That's capitalism and consumerism at its worst or best - depends on one's perspective.

In my not-so-humble opinion, the whole rant about indica and sativa is complete and utter bullshit. If indica isn't altering your perception in that way, perhaps you need to take the aforementioned suggestion to heart and grow some better erb. Good luck destroying billions of seeds to prevent possibly insurrectionist ideas - HAH!

another nail in the pro-legalisation coffin

There are some interesting points raised in this learned forum, but here's something else to mull over :\ . As a grower/consumer for 40+ years I'd love nothing more than for the fun-police to get off my case, but the reality is that I still have to work for a living. I do this under the threat of random drug testing like I'm sure many of you do, too. Employers do this not only because of the illegality of our substance(s) of choice, but because they are obliged to take out insurance against accidents, incidents or actions for which they might be held accountable. Think about industrial work-places, schools, transportation, the finance and medical sectors... anywhere an employee is in a position of influence or responsibility. Clauses in those policies nullify coverage if something untowards happens and the concerned employee is tested and found to be 'under the influence' of illicit substances. Car accidents are another example where, if you are a driver who has a prang that sends you or someone else to hospital and you test positive for drugs, well there goes your third-party insurance. Unless everyone goes on welfare and takes to walking everywhere I just can't see a win happening for the pro-choicers. :| That's my two bob's worth.
