Bluelighter
The playing field
Is soaked with dew
The worn pavement of childhood
Frigid and cold
Working down this well-used path
My legs can't help but feel
Thin and old
How long does it take the sun
To dry out the grass after the rain?
How long before I can climb the fence
Run in the dirt, break a leg...
A solid boy with sunken chin
Offers his food to the hungry
And runs thorugh the mud endlessly
The caloric heat of his energy
Stirs the air like treaded water
His feet and back are bare
HIs skin is pale and thick
Staring into the sun
Endlessly, and I realise
He is blind
As his body decays and grows
Mountainous breasts and cleft-like hips
His smile fades
And the sallow eyes open
We blink in the sun
What would it take
To level the field
Give me a chance to run again
Through the grass and the filmy carcasses
Of cobwebs from the night before last
When his body was my own
Before I digressed into this
Nothingness
Forgive me, Brother, for I have sinned
I have commintted suicide
To escape deevolution
Impregnated with hatred for my self, my body
That tired chalky pavement
An emotional-territorial childhood
And by the time my dress is wet with tears
The sun has dried the grass
