The Photography Thread

OK. well i'm only passing on what *i* know, and i know i need to learn a hell of a lot more.

remember that spade is a complete n00b (apparently) and he's going away soon. bell.

well, we're agreed on that. :)

have you bought any goodies for your 450D? i bought a Canon 'semi-hard' case for mine and it was a waste of money. stupid impulse buy! it doesn't have any storage space or its own strap or belt attachment. fucking £27 too. :X (do you want to buy it? :D)

screen protector and new lens cap with piece of string on the way.

holy shit, that's huge! i wouldn't buy a rucksack just for a camera. this is what i should have got, and probably still will get:

this is what i got:

exactly as described, but i was a stupid cunt when i bought it. 8) you could be out somewhere and want to take a photo, so you take the case off, and... what the fuck do you do with it? not even a zipper for a spare SD card.

edit: £8 off ebay, fuck it, 5 mouse clicks, bish bash bosh, bought. ;)

What do you mean "apparently"? I think is blatent to see that I am. I've picked up a camera a handful of times on my last two trips abroad and never any other time until this week.

i wasn't being cheeky, i just didn't like to sound derogatory, much as you usually deserve it. :)

kara, you really must tell me the rucksack story over drinks sometime, i'd love to hear more.

i already have three rucksacks, one of which is for a laptop. not taking that out just for a camera.

hey big spender, great photos! :)

did it actually cost you £600? 8o

Yep. :\

I'd been looking at this particular model for about two years though. In fact, this was what I originally wanted before getting my Fuji FinePix, but the cost put me off.

One thing I love about it is the way the colours and tones seem to jump out at you. :)

This is what I have at the moment, but the battery life is rubbish.

Was top of the range about 8 years ago lol

Hye TG, congrats on the camera purchase. Did you shoot the lightbulb using a tripod?

They certainly do :D. I suppose that's the difference between a cheap snapper and a decent camera though. I'm quite happy with the loan of my lil brother's camera at the moment. One day - one day - I'll have lots of money and buy a really nice one. One day.

Or wait until they're being flogged off cheap somewhere, more likely. I've considered dusting down my old SLRs but the cost of film and processing is just too high :\. Always was an expensive business photography...

Congratulations on buying something by handing over currency that represents x amount of hours of your labour and in return receiving a finished product. Must have been hard but what an achievement!

Congratulations on taking good photos tribal girl :) <3

Nah congrats on making the decision to purchase above mentioned purchase.

^ You may have a point.

People said congrats to me when my son was born. And all it has done is cost me sleep, money and reduced my drug intake. Bizarre! :)

I went out and took some more photos today.

This was plastered onto the side of the Tate Modern. I thought it was pretty cool.

Attempted to go to Kent for a drive with two friends, missed an exit on a roundabout, saw a sign for Cambridge and went there instead:)

And we had a smashing bloody time!
