I like that grainy pic TG!

One day in about 20 years time I'll have money to buy a decent camera so I can actually take up the hobby i've been wanting to take up for the past far too many years! However, as I don't rate money or material possessions very highly i'm in no rush.

Cherry you hardly need a good camera to have photography as a hobby. No excuses, get a camera.

graininess usually equals too high an ISO setting. i don't think the flash would have done that?

Shot on a 200 Film though, which i wouldn't have thought would be too fast.

i dunno why i said that actually. i love it, but it could do with a bit more length. one of these days i'll get a 300. and a wide angle. i've got them for my old SLR but they won't fit.

^ Ummm, maybe you'd struggle to find any DLSR that would accept those lenses.

I remember my old Pentax was great, as all of the lenses i had (awell was given) fitted my Praktica as well.

How good is this Canon 450D?

I need a decent camera for mid to long distances when I go away travelling.

Costs about £380 right?

I'd prefer to spend around £200, but if that camera is really good and will last me a long long time then I'll fork out the extra

My bloody cat rarely sits still to let me take a photo. Always runs up to the camera and nudges it's nose into the lense.

Very nice photos though.
