Passover begins tonight at sundown.

Feel free to post about the miracle of passover.

I read that these are the scripture readings for tonight and wanted to share them.

Then Moshe called for all the leaders of Isra’el and said, “Select and take lambs for your families, and slaughter the Pesach lamb. Take a bunch of hyssop leaves and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and smear it on the two sides and top of the door-frame. Then, none of you is to go out the door of his house until morning. For Adonai will pass through to kill the Egyptians; but when he sees the blood on the top and on the two sides, Adonai will pass over the door and will not allow the Slaughterer to enter your houses and kill you. You are to observe this as a law, you and your descendants forever. “When you come to the land which Adonai will give you, as he has promised, you are to observe this ceremony. When your children ask you, ‘What do you mean by this ceremony?’ say, ‘It is the sacrifice of Adonai’s Pesach [Passover], because [Adonai] passed over the houses of the people of Isra’el in Egypt, when he killed the Egyptians but spared our houses.’” The people of Isra’el bowed their heads and worshipped. Then the people of Isra’el went and did as Adonai had ordered Moshe and Aharon — that is what they did. (vi) At midnight Adonai killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh sitting on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock. Pharaoh got up in the night, he, all his servants and all the Egyptians; and there was horrendous wailing in Egypt; for there wasn’t a single house without someone dead in it. He summoned Moshe and Aharon by night and said, “Up and leave my people, both you and the people of Isra’el; and go, serve Adonai as you said. Take both your flocks and your herds, as you said; and get out of here! But bless me, too.” The Egyptians pressed to send the people out of the land quickly, because they said, “Otherwise we’ll all be dead!” The people took their dough before it had become leavened and wrapped their kneading bowls in their clothes on their shoulders. The people of Isra’el had done what Moshe had said — they had asked the Egyptians to give them silver and gold jewelry and clothing; and Adonai had made the Egyptians so favorably disposed toward the people that they had let them have whatever they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians. The people of Isra’el traveled from Ra‘amses to Sukkot, some six hundred thousand men on foot, not counting children. A mixed crowd also went up with them, as well as livestock in large numbers, both flocks and herds. They baked matzah loaves from the dough they had brought out of Egypt, since it was unleavened; because they had been driven out of Egypt without time to prepare supplies for themselves. The time the people of Isra’el lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of 430 years to the day, all the divisions of Adonai left the land of Egypt. This was a night when Adonai kept vigil to bring them out of the land of Egypt, and this same night continues to be a night when Adonai keeps vigil for all the people of Isra’el through all their generations. Adonai said to Moshe and Aharon, “This is the regulation for the Pesach lamb: no foreigner is to eat it. But if anyone has a slave he bought for money, when you have circumcised him, he may eat it. Neither a traveler nor a hired servant may eat it. It is to be eaten in one house. You are not to take any of the meat outside the house, and you are not to break any of its bones. The whole community of Isra’el is to keep it. If a foreigner staying with you wants to observe Adonai’s Pesach, all his males must be circumcised. Then he may take part and observe it; he will be like a citizen of the land. But no uncircumcised person is to eat it. The same teaching is to apply equally to the citizen and to the foreigner living among you.” All the people of Isra’el did just as Adonai had ordered Moshe and Aharon. On that very day, Adonai brought the people of Isra’el out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.
Sh'mot (Exo) 12:21‭-‬51 CJB

But now this is what Adonai says, he who created you, Ya‘akov, he who formed you, Isra’el: “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I am calling you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through water, I will be with you; when you pass through rivers, they will not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you will not be scorched — the flame will not burn you. For I am Adonai, your God, the Holy One of Isra’el, your Savior — I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and S’va for you. Because I regard you as valued and honored, and because I love you. For you I will give people, nations in exchange for your life. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will bring your descendants from the east, and I will gather you from the west; I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Don’t hold them back! Bring my sons from far away, and my daughters from the ends of the earth, everyone who bears my name, whom I created for my glory — I formed him, yes, I made him.’” Bring forward the people who are blind but have eyes, also the deaf who have ears. All the nations are gathered together, and the peoples are assembled. Who among them can proclaim this and reveal what happened in the past? Let them bring their witnesses to justify themselves, so that others, on hearing, can say, “That’s true.” “You are my witnesses,” says Adonai, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you can know and trust me and understand that I am he — no god was produced before me, nor will any be after me. I, yes I, am Adonai; besides me there is no deliverer. I have declared, saved and proclaimed — not some alien god among you. Therefore you are my witnesses,” says Adonai. “I am God. Since days began, I have been he. No one can deliver from my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” Here is what Adonai, your redeemer, the Holy One of Isra’el, says: “For your sake I have sent [an army] to Bavel and knocked down the fleeing Kasdim, all of them; their songs of triumph are now lamentations. I am Adonai, your Holy One, the Creator of Isra’el, your King.”
Yesha 'yahu (Isa) 43:1‭-‬15 CJB

I haven't had a drink in over a month. I just went to the liquor store and bought a 3L bottle of Mogen David wine (kosher for passover)

You actually Jewish?
I'm very lacking in knowledge on this faith but I know small bits, not near enough BASIC details to comment upon the practices etc though.
It's like that person today who tried to be smart & commented about various Hindu sect's, sadly they came across me ;)

Real talk here can you link an idiots guide to break down what this festival is about, it's history, why Jews like it etc.

I was not raised Jewish. I figure if I'm going to try to be a Christian the best I can hope for is to be the slave of a Jew (Christ). So for that reason I am trying to learn as much as I can about Jewish customs and laws.

Passover is very important because it signifies when Adonai killed all of the first born males in Egypt and passed over the homes of Jewish families before the exodus.

Yeah I know what you are talking about roughly now you posted that.

I'm curious here, so you were of no faith before & now the "path" of Christianity has called to you in such a deep way it's in your "Soul" & you have no choice but to follow this faith?
I understand that "calling" it may be a shock but I wasn't born to a "Hindu" family, it called to me and I had no option but to accept.

What experience put you on this path? As my Guruji always says "There are many paths to the top of the mountain which are all different but the view from the peak is all the same"

God bless you, may Jesus help you on this path you have chosen.
Amen.

There is a lot of info in the Wikipedia article

"The Hebrew calendar is adjusted to align with the solar calendar"

Just how many other old time Faith systems do, I guess it shouldn't be a shock in a way but I sure sat up when I read that!!! It seems a far more logical way to "record" time to me than this odd system we now use, add a day here on a leap year, knock an hour off for Summer etc.

You go by the cycle of the moon & stars is way more simple in my view.

Leonard Ravenhill is the only "Christian" who's shaken me up, his a Revival preacher but labels aside as it's all bollocks IMHO this man really knew "God" & his a huge influence in my life.

My gift to you, Amen.

Thank you for the blessing. May God also bless you.

I have always been a believer. I haven't always been good at representing that. I was raised as a believer.

I believe that I am a true witness for Christ because I can testify that I felt the true presence of the Lord during eucharistic adoration. I felt called to attend eucharistic adoration and while I was there I felt the presence of the Lord. Truly.

The church I attended eucharistic adoration at has had over twenty years of continuous eucharistic adoration. I think it is truly admirable that they always try to keep the Lord company and are open 24 hours.

Any Church open 24 hours is good in my book. I'm not wise on the section of "Christianity" you taken up so I'm going to do some learning.

What really gets me about this part of BL is most of the posts, so many cussing "God" etc, a forum member yesterday went as far as to give "God" a gender, say he had a beard & he liked sex with kids, this isn't "God" at all. It's really sad to read such silly comments on here in my view.

It's a True Sign of someone who has felt "God" despite you being "Christian" & me on a "Hindu" path we both Respect the others path & know God is so vast it comes in so many various forms, names, shapes etc it cannot be given a label by humans, the Rig Veda in Hinduism says this in one of their oldest texts right at the start "God goes by many names, wise people know this"

You have people who never feel anything devine their whole life & others have gone to a place of worship, be that Sufi, Hindu, Jew, Christian etc.....and been "touched" by something so VAST & POWERFUL it changes the rest of your life.

You say "God bless you, Amen"
I say "Ram Ram, Jai Maa Durga"

It's just two sides of the same coin, we are all renting this body, the landlord is "God" and one day you will be evicted from the place you dwell right now ;)

Amen, may God bless you.
Ram Ram, Jai Maa Durga. Ohm Namah Shivya.

What kind of habit you have?
Fent, Meth, Crack and / or Heroin?

N.A. never worked for me, my logic is "God" made everything from N2O up to some bizarre Chinese Fent analogue & it's humans fault for using it wrong. Even Datura in the right dose etc can have a good use, the other addicts didn't want to hear my opinion, I honesty find those kind of Rehabilitation places horrific but if it works for you more power I say.

Personally I find 99.8% of Smack heads to be total waste of space, I speak from experience as I've been on Heroin since 2001 so I'm allowed to use the term "Smack head" & a local term round here which is "Bag rat"

I have been addicted to oxycodone, alcohol, possibly others. I like cocaine and meth on rare occasions. Fentanyl or heroin on even rarer occasions.

Lately I just snort lots of x pills and also lately lots of 25b-NBOH. I love flipping.
