6 tons daym. That sound like a commercial box truck. Never heard of van that big. Then they left you there? My range rover wasn't even 2 tons gross weight. This what happens when the wrong person trys to drive a huge vehicle. Hope you feeling better. Are you able to do any rehab?

I do physio 4 times a day, but I have to be really careful not to over do it or I end up in really severe pain for days after. It was a long wheel based van, it weighed that much with all the parts it was loaded up with, on its own they said about 4 tonnes.

Thats crazy, and they never found this idiot? I see alot of hit and run in nyc as you can imagine. Most people I met in the hospital were hit by a car or shot. Too many people on the road plus unqualified drivers. Keep doing the physio and battle thru it. You already know training is hell. Its a focus of mind and body, then these injuries trying to hold you back. It messes with me mentally like it does with alot of people.

D2P, you have a degenerate condition and got hit by a van? Wow, my heart goes out to you and to Rod and all of the other chronic pain patients.

The accident triggered the degenerative condition. It just gets worse as time goes on there's no cure, no way to control the pain properly and it just keeps spreading to other parts of my body. Rod we got the driver, big legal battle since been going on 4 years already.

Wow, usually those cases go quick, specially since you were injured. 4 years thats messed up. Fender benders take 10 years but injury case should go quicker. You have perminant damage they need to pay up. Its redicilous, people are guilty and still want to drag a case on for years.

It's because the case is the most complex they have had, I have severe mental health problems now from the accident severe PTSD depressive psychosis, panic disorder, severe adjustment disorder. They are still having me see loads of experts etc its going to take a long while. But yeah physical and mental health problems are now for life. All from helping a stranger outside my work

Howdy folks, If anyones seen my previous posts you will know my back is fucked and I am in agony every day, My imflamation bloods came back normal, dicflofenic does nothing but Proxicam gel seems to soothe it a bit hmm... I need very high doses of Opiates to kill the pain and my MRI finally came back and the only dodgy thing on it was "minor schmorl's nodes affect the end plates" Conclusion: Nothing showing to cause symptoms, I'm still in agony every single day of my life , question is , anyone else had problems with these shmorl's nodes because I read on the net that hundreds of people are being sent away every day as if there's nothing wrong with them when in actual fact these things are causing sever pain (me) my Dr's exact words were , you are going to need to learn to live with it. Any feedback would be much appreaciated.

Thats new to me, I look into it. Def know what its like being told deal with it, your cutt off as of right now. No notice or taper, your done bye. Thats how my hospital did me in.

Ben

I have no knowledge of schmorl nodes. What i wanted to comment on is what the doctor said. Believe me if he had the pain you do he would move heaven & earth to find treatment that helps..not say "learn to live with it". I have been told the same thing & it gets me so mad. I want some quality of life...i have tried so many "alternative" methods to help with my pain. Some did help others were a waste of time & money. Sadly, i borrowed the money from my Aunt. She knew how i suffered & offered me the money.

How are you dealing with the pain ? Keep looking on the net, see if there is some sort of treatment..ya never know.

Ya research the most on your own. Some doctors just don't care, angry about battles with insurance companies over money, or on drugs themselves. Its very hard to find the right doctor but keep looking and do your own research. I kind of gave up on doctors and treat myself, go online for answers. Usually works out but some cases need professional help. Would like to have a good doctor but not so easy here. We're flooded with millions of doctors. 90% of them are horrible so it takes alot of time, money, and traveling to find that one doctor that can help you. Thats been my experience at least and looking for a better healthcare system, another state or country. Whatever works.

Well I've tried everything now and it looks like I'm gna have a go at doing what I'm best at , self - medicating, I don't know if you guys know anything or a lot about steroids but there has been studies shown all over the world the sterold nandrolone (deca) has healed injurys after cycle due to it's joint lubrication properties, the theory is that it lubricates the joints in order for you to slowly build the muscle up around them, that as well as Human Growth Horome and a certain Peptide called TB500 that is famous for healing damaged legiments, tendons e.t.c. I've got the stuff here so I'm gna see my doc 1 more time I think and if still no joy I'm just gny go for it , fuck it , I've nothing to lose, I've been a gym rat all my days despite me wkd side and being away from it and watching my body deteriorate depresses me something awfull, In the U.S. I could probably see a consultant who specialises in this field but the NHS is bullshit, I had to argue with the dr for weeks just to get "promoted" to Tramdol lol, after finding out it was an SSRI I got off that shit so now just on 30/500 Codeine / Para , for a guy in severe pain, u having a laugh. rant over , that's the plan !

I wish you the best in recovery. I also recovering and have considered some type of roid action to build myself back up. I lost 30-40 lbs in the hospital for soooo long. That food they serving is not right, not enough calories. I have been warned by couple physical therapists not to do it mostly because the weight I would put on. Muscle weight is alot heavier as you know. My leg is all hardware and this extra weight could be a problem on that and my good knee. The good knee taking up alot now so worried about that also. Don't want two bad legs. I started rehab again/working out on bad leg. It feels good when I doing it, in every night and a.m. it feels like bad leg going to fall off lol. I took off for two weeks because 1. I just detox off suboxone. 2. It was 100 degrees here. Now I past the detox and heat so trying to get back to rehab. Its a battle every day.

I hope you find the relief you need man. But, one thing in particular made me want to reply. If tramadol is doing the trick for you, I would continue using it! It is not an SSRI but does act somewhat on the serotonin system. It is an opioid with SNRI activities.
Honestly, for some tramadol works wonders for specific conditions. Others, not so much.... I would try it out again and see if it cut's it for you. Just be careful not to take too high of a dosage as it is known to cause seizures. Be careful when mixing it with other drugs that work on the serotonin system as seizures and serotonin syndrome become a possibility.

I know a few people taking tramadol for nerve damage and arthritis. I tried it for pain relief but at that time my opiate tolerance was too high to feel any effect from it. Maybe better to detox first then start tramadol therapy. I would put it around codeine in strength but know it has other properties that can help certain conditions.

So I need some serious help!!!

I broke both shoulders and my knee a few years back, was given intense amount of painkillers, got addicted, od'd, was taken off. Started dislocating my shoulder, a lot. Was in super serious need of pk's so my doctor gave me fentanyl patches because I needed something and he felt these were the hardest to abuse. He was right, and they've been great, but he refuses, absolutely refuses, to give me breakthrough meds. Which he does for good reason and I can't blame.

Just now I dislocated my shoulder real bad and it hurts sooooo much. I only have these patches so if I take an extra one I'll run out early. I can't get anymore pk's and I'm near tears the pain is so bad. I need something, I really, really do. What should I do. I know you can't give medical advice, but has anyone been in a similar situation? How can I use these patches in this situation?

I have a bulging disc, l5-s1 area of my spine, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be in as much pain and as immobile as I am.. I am generally one tough cookie.. I'm 23 female but think I was an amazon in a past life, lol.. But seriously though, is a bulging disc supposed to cause this much discomfort?

A friend told me that they smoke their patches, but that many people die from that.

Where are you located, just wondering about your healthcare options? I would go to the hospital or get them any way neccessary. I always thought fent was breakthru meds but the patches are different. Maybe your dr would give you some fent lolly pops for breakthru, they are wicked strong. If you want to do it without pk's ask for a nerve block. Your whole left side will go numb for 14-16 hours. I been there and fent liquid was given at max dosage as a shot and I was still going nutts in pain. The only other option they had for me was the nerve block. Sometimes all the meds in the world can't relieve breakthu pain. Hope you get relief soon, that sucks being in constant pain. Most doctors don't understand or not willing to give you what you need. Sometimes you have to do your own diagnosis and find the right meds.

No way should you feel bad. You are not trying to get high, you are trying to deal with severe pain. Your situation is the exact reason why I am not willing to tell my doc that I need help with my pain meds (that I am abusing them). The day may come when I have to, but for now I am determined to try to deal with my issues without my doc knowing. Notice I am not willing to call myself an addict. Denial is a very strong defense mechanism.
