Opioids **The Oxycodone Mega Thread.** - Can't find your thread? Its in here.

What is it you dont understand? People do things that are unhealthy even though they have been warned that these activities are unhealthy.

Based on your screen-name, Im assuming you are on suboxone and thus have likely found yourself in a situation where you went too far with opioids and turned to suboxone for help. So is it really so hard for you to imagine that people will engage in unhealthy activities?-DG

Actually, I was prescribed various opiates for a very long time, I never chose to become an addict. Granted, the pills lead to other things...but I always realized that I could be harmed in the process. It seems like common sense that sticking something in a place it doesn't go could cause harm.

Then again, they say only a fraction of the population has common sense.

@Serious:

It'll last in your system 2 days tops. But yeah do NOT do the full 80. Do 20mg, wait an hour and a half. Do another 10-20 as needed.

But yeah drink lots of water and work out the next day. Oxy stays in your system 2-3 days MAX with a single dose. With enough fluids, probably <24 hours.

Some opiates, such as methadone, could potentially stay in your system for weeks. Be careful which opiates you choose, it will greatly effect the duration it says in your system. Don't think just because the Oxy cleared your system in three days that all the others will too.

what's up with these new oxys? i read you can't even abuse them by chewing them anymore(how i do em). are they out yet? someone school me.

Everything i've read hasn't gone into much detail about it other than they will have some kind of new coating.

Im sure the new formulation will still be able to be abused, it may just be a much larger pain in the ass. They will probably try to make them like Opana ER or even a step further, which most likely will mean they will be unable to IV and tougher or crappy to snort. I dont really see any way they could make them completely crush-proof, therefore I dont see a way to prevent someone from being unable to get the whole dose at once orally. Opana ER's are already sort of a pain to blow, any worse and blowing new oxycontins may really suck.

I dont think we will be seeing the new breed of "unbreakable" oxies for sometime. It's going to take a while to get it going. Once they hit the streets, give the junkies a couple days, and the magic seal will be broken.

I wish Serious would post again so that we know they are ok.

I managed to get my hands on a few of the red 60mg Oxycontin pills when they were first released a couple of years ago, I think this is what you are referring to. They are made so that they are harder to abuse. If they are the ones that I had they supposedly gel up when they mix with water, others I have seen have a mesh-type substance in them that makes it damn near impossible to break into a fine powder which is nothing a mortar and pestle can't handle.

I learned that if you crush up the pill and put it in a rapid-release capsule it bypasses the mouth and other areas that could cause it to get wet and gel up. By doing that it's like parachuting the pill, hits you much harder and lasts longer than snorting/shooting. This probably doesn't help someone trying to take another ROA but it's way better than just taking the pill in the normal oral fashion.

Not a whole lot of info avail yet, but here is a little right up from cnn.

http://pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/2010/04/05/oxycontin-reformulation-okd/?hpt=T2

A popular painkiller, known for its high abuse potential – OxyContin – is being reformulated, the Food and Drug Administration said Monday.

According to the release, the drug in its current form is designed to release small quantities of the active ingredients over an extended period of time, but abusers have found ways to circumvent the drug’s time-release properties and ingest large quantities all at once.

The new formulation, approved today by the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and research – would “prevent the opioid medication from being cut, broken, chewed, crushed or dissolved to release more medication.”

Experts saythat while this reformulation may reduce the risk of abuse by injection or snorting, addicts abusing the drug by mouth may be able to achieve similar highs by taking more of the drug.

“Although this new formulation of OxyContin may provide only an incremental advantage over the current version of the drug, it is still a step in the right direction,” said Bob Rappaport, M.D., director of the Division of Anesthesia and Analgesia Products in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in the agency’s press release.

According to the release, and data from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, approximately half a million people abused OxyContin for the first time in 2008 alone.

I dont think he is talking about current or past oxycontin pills, he is referring to the yet unreleased new harder to abuse oxycontin pill that was recently approved by the FDA. I cant figure out what pill you are talking about. I think you are talking about the red Purdue 60mg oxycontin's, I never had the 60's but I had the 80's, and they are not difficult to abuse and easy to snort. You sound like youre describing Opana ER. IDK, im a bit confused.

The new variations in OC's are the exact same, 15s, 30s, 60s, are the new ones. I have had the red 60s and they are the exact same as reg purdue 40s 80s etc.

There must be a NEW UNRELEASED version, bc they have been scrutinized for so long. It will most likely gel up incredibly, like those old generic 80s that were green footballs. Those were the worst.

people try and pass off 60mg morphine as generic oxycontin around here alot but those are more orange or a faint red wenever some one trys to pass thoes off as oxy to me a laugh but thoes morphine are kinda hard and gel en shit so maybee thats what hes got

^ I bet your right it sounds like something like that happened because I've used the new sixty and they are just like the 80s and 40s only red and a different size. One last thing I would be pissed as fuck at my dealer if he tried to pass off a morphine 60 as an oc 60 first of you can tell immediately I'd probably not even us that guy anymore I'd be so pissed.

Please help im confused

So just tonight i got a generic E705/40 and i heard it was made by ENDO but then i also heard that ENDO has been discontinued... but i was wondering if you can inject these ones, i know they gel up but is there anyway to get around that and inject them? thanks for helping

Its an endo. Im unsure about going about injecting it though. If its anything like their Opana, its pretty close to impossible to inject I believe, though I see people say theyve done it.

I took Oxy for the first time in awhile last night and had some screwed up, very scary dreams. My girlfriend said I was dreaming last night, and in the middle of it, I started screaming and crying "I'm so scared" . She had to shake me and wake me up!

in the dream, I was dreaming that I was stuck in a dream, and couldn't wake up. it was totally insane

I wasn't even fully asleep, just kind of half asleep.

I guess the medical term is called "Hypnagogia"
