The Opiate Itch?

I know antihistimines help prevent the itch.
Normally, I take two Benadryl tablets (I'm
not sure which kind, I usually don't pay
attention) about 10 minutes before I take
any opiates. The itch is tolerable, but
still irritating. Am I taking enough? Is
there a better option?

There's no way to get rid of the opiate inch entirely. If you get it bad, it will always be bad, or if your like me your hardly get it all.
Oh yea, take about 10 of those benadryl, it wont kill the ich but you will have a frew other problems on your hand....

Yes, you are doing the right thing. Don't take any more Benadryl than that. If you take down a whole foil pack of those, you'll have far worse problems than the itch, like the person above me said.
The itch will get a little better over time, as you body gets used to and adjusts to the drug. But it will never go away completely.
 
Just wait.....pretty soon you will grow to love the itch! It's kind of like an accquired taste with opiates...
 
that's not the opiates...that itch means you just picked up a case of dermatitis...LOL!!! j/k...i've come to love the itch...it lets me know that the opiates are indeed working...it's not that bad for me...it's not like i fell into a patch of poison ivy or something...just an occasiaonal scratch here n there ever few minutes or so...
 
When I take opiates the itch lasts for up too two days and fades after that. When I take antihistimines, the itch stops for a few hours and comes back. It sucks!
I have decided to scratch the itch untill it goes away, wish me good luck.
