I knew it was going to be unbearably bad coverage on channel nine but I wanted to see it through so I set the alarm for 5.am and dropped 4 tabs so I'd be peaking all the way through it.
Here is my review that I have also emailed to channel nine....
Absolutely hillarious, channel nines commentary was so bad it was funny, i was cryng with laughter as eddie and the gushing wonder horse stoically soldiered on despite being totally out of their depth, no intelligence, no personal acedemic knowledge or understanding of the worlds nations and there historic culural relationships, nadda, zip, lol.
just read through the preprepared notes like it's a harvey normal commercial, slipping in as many "fantastic"s, "wonderful"s, "incredible", and "simply amazing"s as possible,
During the parade of athletes they were so hopeless patronizing, third rate and downright ignorant that I laughed so hard I peed myself twice.
Then at the end when they wheeled out beetlejuice to do a 57 minute 19 chorus screeching off key holwingly bad version of hey jude looking like a dead gran after a bad sex change I felt the hearts and souls of 100 million Britians sink in shame and seat twisting, cringing embarrasment and couldn't stand it any more and pulled the plug before the nah nah nahs started.
I was still bursting into fits of giggles well into the afternoon.
so many highlights I can't name them all, but here was one of my favourites..
Eddie: "Here they come, the USA"
The horse: "Team USA, The dream team, the golden... (fades as she cant think of another word), desperate to recover she stammers "They are all multi millionaires, isn't it wonderful that this means so much to them"
I slid down the wall, begging them to stop, please, no more eddie, its hurting my sides..
hahahahaha, just brilliant.
