The "Older Drugs"

As for the rest of the Barb family, those are getting a bit harder to find. They're still widely available in third world countries, but they dont often find their way into Western Society. Things like Butalbital, Phenobarbital, and Pentobarbital are still very common, but the good ones, like Secobarbital, and others are very hard to find, sadly.

Quibble, pentobarbital (yellow jackets, brand name nembutal) is a short acting barbiturate and one of the good ones. I might have heard it's the second most preferred, after secobarbital.

Of course, I'll never see it :(. I wanna try the good barbs and ludes more than anything. Too bad I missed my shot at etaqualone when I could've bought it. I did find an empty bottle of a barb once, saddest day ever.

Dispensaries and clubs I belong to in Michigan all have quality tar and brick hash. As for Quualudes or Barbs? Never seen one. Could easily find opium though.

Does anyone know what was in Black Mollies? Some kind of amphetemine, that was one of the most pleasant highs I've had.

I assume you are talking about dispensories for medical users right? Are there a lot in MI yet. I haven't looked because it seems like nothing in the law talked about that so it was to grey of an area just like the entire law. I am a medical marijuana card holder and if it isn't against the rules to post where the legal dispensories are can you or can you point me to where I can look and under what, like in the yellow pages? If this breaks any rules please disregard this request because I do not want ot break any more rules, but I have niot read anything about asking about legal dispensories(if they even exist).

Thanks

I usually go to dispensaries in the Lansing area. I was not referring to buying opium at dispensaries as that is illegal. I think where you have confused my post is that when I say "tar" I mean tar hashish and rock hashish. There are plenty of dispensaries in the Lansing/East Lansing area and I know I have also been to some in Oakland County as well as right outside of Detroit. Hope this helps.

I always wanted to try pcp, but I have not come across it in 20 years of drug abuse. I prolly should have asked my heroin guy back in the day when I was doing that but when one has a habit the only thing you can afford is more dope. Shit i even quite doing coke. I guess it wasn't ment to be.

I smoked alotta sherm in vegas when i was younger (2007-2009 or so).
Shits intense.
Its like cid n meth got into a freak accident n fused together.
Smells absolutely horrible tho.

Ain't that the truth? I know in some areas in the midwest/east coast PCP can still be found, I've been offered some on the streets before but I'm not saying where.

Barbs have by and large disappeared but they are still prescribed occasionally. A few years ago I saw someone that had secobarbital for back surgery. I don't know why they didn't give him opiates, but he had barbs, and he shared, so I was happy.

I had to laugh a bit at the original post though...opiates...new? People have been abusing the poppy since time immemorial...probably longer than cannabis!

Opium is pretty uncommon anywhere because most of it is manufactured into heroin, which is more potent, less bulky, and more profitable.

Barbiturates have been largely replaced by benzodiazepines because of the milder side effect profile, reduced overdose potential, and general tolerability.

I've never seen PCP, but I'm sure it's still around.

So what would "using" (not abusing) a poppy look like? Smell the pretty flower? =D.

I'm a younger generation pot smoker and grower, all my experience is with newer strains. Based on the quality of the hybrids if sativa origin that come from the original haze, panama, thai etc. . .I totally agree the "new school" weed SUCKS. Anything being sold at a med dispensary SUCKS and has nothing like the hours long soaring trippy effect that 70's varieties had. I mean imported weed from columbia and thailand and such totally spanks any "dutch" new school type. Yes that leafy, airy stuff from africa will kill your sour diesel and thai sticks make white widow look like lawn clippings. Afghan hash would be better than any hash you can buy now which is made from the new school strains.

Opium should be more available since poppy pods are legal to buy and they are full of seeds. You can buy poppy seeds and grow them it's just slicing them that is illegal. More people should be doing this in their backyards but they aren't. Mexico grows tons of poppy but it's all made into heroin before it gets to the USA. I got some tasmanian pods once, and I could make tea with 3 or 4 pods that had me nodding harder than two OC80s would. Those are the seeds I grow now for my own pods. I don't slice them though because you need a lot of poppies to make a chunk of opium, like a whole backyard filled up completely.

I heard about that quaalude factory in the bay area that was some old schoolers running it so i guess the younger generation isn't interested.

I've heard both sides of this argument for a while now.

From the DEA website- Marijuana is much stronger now than it was decades ago. According to data from the Potency Monitoring Project at the University of Mississippi, the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of commercial-grade marijuana rose from an average of 3.71 percent in 1985 to an average of 5.57 percent in 1998. The average THC content of U.S. produced sinsemilla increased from 3.2 percent in 1977 to 12.8 percent in 1997.7

I mean that's 4 times stronger and they aren't even encompassing from 1970 to now. That's just 77 to 97. I would expect "newer weed" to be better as the sophisticated grow houses and even more discerning clients make it that way naturally. I guess they are only testing US produced shit but, when didn't people grow?

Obviously the pure sativa is a thing of the past and obviously there are other cannabinoids at play strain to strain. No one can argue with that. The fact still remains that the bud tests stronger. I don't know man in my experience the people that say todays bud sucks tend to be nostalgic for an old setting or have yet to stop smoking and have tolerances to match.

Personally I have only been smoking for 13 years. In my lifetime I tend to think that the bud has gotten better. Doesn't matter though cause no matter what there's always an older head talking about acapulco gold and thai stick lol.

^And there always will be :)

I think increasing levels of potency when it comes to cannabis is a good thing. It's probably even healthier because you have to smoke less of the actual plant matter to get the desired amount of THC/other cannabinoids if you're dealing with really potent cannabis. "One-hit shit" as they say.

One thing i have noticed is that there is alot less hash around in my part of Canada then there used to be and it's more pricey. Weed has gotten better in quality but either way it's harder for me to tell if it's the weed or my tolerance to it.

As for barbs and ludes the only barbs Ive seen are butalbital and phenobarbital and well methaqualone is non existent more or less in the west.

There used to be more PCP around my area years ago but i haven't seen it in atleast 10 years. I smoked it once about 13 years ago and ya it was not fun 8(

Which is too bad, really, because butalbital pales in comparison to seco- and pentobarbital are way more fun. Even sodium barbital wasn't bad. You can still find the first two prescribed (rarely) for seizures and sometimes postoperative conditions, such as back surgeries where muscle spasms could be an issue.

As far as old drugs go, how come nobody talks about chloral hydrate anymore? Have they stopped dumping it into drinks at bars near the docks and shanghaiing sailors?

Ya it seems that mickey finns have gone by the wayside here :p . I wouldn't mind trying it if i could get my hands on some though.

The new strains of weed have more actual resin on them and are grown seedless which is why they are claimed to be "stronger". There's just no way that is really true. There are virtually no modern strains that produce the 8 hour long psychedelic mindfuck like thai or columbian etc. . . And they modern ones available in seed form that do are going to be good hybrids of the original strain. Sour D, OG Kush, chemdog, white widow and stuff will fuck you up but there's not much going on in terms of character of the high. It's like a clinical bland effect there's no soul to it. Just my opinion i'm not an old schooler only 30 but I know my buds and i've grown everything out there. My favorite ones are the haze strains based on original haze which is over 40 years old and a mashup of columbian, thai, jamaican and mexican. Every time you smoke it's like the first time you ever smoked. So strong you might not be able to drive your car safely !

^ I feel you on that man, to a point. The thing is how do you really know? I'm just about thirty myself and Widow is actually my personal favorite for taste and the strain specific high that I get. There's no doubt that different strains have different highs and I know what you mean about the bud seeming souless. I'm just not sure if it's the bud, my tolerance or my nostalgia for strains I used to love.

^ I can agree with that. When I was smoking heavily, I always wondered which strains were significantly better than others. I mean, if I could tell once in a while but after smoking a decent amount of a certain strain, the more pronounced effects of the high sort of lose their mystique.

In my area, hash is very rare, having only seen it come through once and it wasn't that great compared to some stuff I tried earlier this summer at a fest. I quit smoking about a few weeks ago but at the time, I had a HIGH tolerance and like 3-4 hits of this stuff and I handed it back to my neighbor and was like "I'm good man."

I've only gotten my hands on opium at fests and even there, most of the time its just floral smelling bs but I was able to score a tiny amount of some quality stuff that the dude had made himself. That stuff was good, like my lips were going numb, etc. Which for me, I've had VERY little experience with opiates but I could tell the difference between his stuff and all of the bullshit I had smoked before. One thing I noticed is that is was less strong smelling, like the other stuff just stunk of flowers. It was odd.
