Back to the game of cat and mouse again
-- oh, but did it ever really end?
Our secrecy ever-thin to each others' eyes,
silent about what we know all too damn well.
Both masters in the art of misleading, playing dumb,
creeping like ethereal prowlers in the dark,
putting pieces together, drawing through tedrils,
pulling strings amidst the webs, swimming,
often drowning in ethical seas of gray.
Ever-curious as to who has really got the upper hand,
all the while a little ill at ease considering the extent
of what the other might really know and hold
in the circumference of the extra eye.
And yet it's so riveting.
