Cmon... what possible good outcome can come out of this thread? The only 'positive' thing I can see is if the people in it (who mostly are all in the bluelight IRC channel, and say exactly the same stuff there) dont dislike each other by the end of it.

So you conceded in the first post that it was not for everyone. Instead, that the normal crap that you lot call each other in the middle of too many threads is important enough to have its own thread to that we can read it without any of those annoying good posts getting in the way.

This is a thread which is going to have about 5 people calling each other names for about 500 posts, and the final outcome will be any 5 minute sample of what you all normally say to each other in #bluelight anyway.

but you're still reading it aren't you? i warned you at the start, if you're not interested, don't read it. nobody is *making* you read this thread, you chose to come in here. it's been crystal clear all along that this is a thread with a specific purpose... and if it keeps the annoying clutter and flames out of other threads, then what the hell are you complaining about?
come on, at least this thread isn't hiding anything, it is exactly what it claims to be.
and is it just me being sleep deprived or is it ironic that this discussion is probably going to evolve into the sort of discussion that is apparently so boring for everyone else? doesn't anyone else find the discussions and arguments between people the most interesting thing about this place? if we all just sat in a circle posting general posts and not interacting the place would lose its character...

I was gonna write a long post about how I think this thread is unnescessary, but for some of you its not, so I'll let it go, but I don't think we need it and the whole point of all the recent posts about what we can and can't post here was to try to make sure these kind of threads don't happen...

IMHO this thread is not pointless crap. it was an attempt to establish some "harm minimisation" by confining the so-called "crap" to one place. astonishingly enough (i thought i made it clear) some people just don't seem to get it? the thread was also trying to make a point that some of us need to chill the fuck out, stop being so damned precious and enjoy ourselves in SOCIAL! and incidentally, i don't think that banter between bluelighters is crap. as i said before, the place would be nothing without it.
and even you *do* think this thread is pointless, this sort of thread has been going on since Aus social started, so don't try and pull the jaded oldskooler line, "Bluelight's gone to shit and it's nothing like it used to be". if you want some evidence, look no further than the link Ravedust posted earlier in this thread.
now i have to be careful to stay on the thread topic, i wouldn't wanna be raping my own thread. so i wanna make it clear that this WAS a flame, because IMHO there is some seriously hypocritical shit going down around here lately.

Aye, some people have a use for this thread... What I meant by that was I don't think people should have to make posts which could be considered crap and which don't really have a place anywhere, nor do I think people should have to flame each other in order to release their frustrations, even if it is in a lighthearted manner... I realise tho that most people need some kind of outlet such as this thread, and that the posts which so many people can't help but make (myself at times) have to be made, and that was why I said I'd let it go... It really doesn't bother me that much, but I don't have to like it...
But who knows, you might find me joining in at some point, when I don't have so much else more important to do...
