The Official BL Fashion Thread!

where do you girls get your blouses? i get my slacks at express but i HATE their blouses. they're too long, the cuffs are too big and they have no top button. i want some that will last me a long time and look professional. i don't mind spending a bit more but i have no idea where to look, other than bloomingdales which would probably cost me a fortune. where do you go?

hrm, i know of those stores but i don't know if they have them in the malls i go to. i'll have to check :)

I definitely like ny&co for their work shirts (the pants don't fit me right though :P), and they always come out with a gazillion colors and prints for each season.

do you have NY&CO?

the limited?

yep yep i have wonderful fitted tops of all sorts from these two brands.
As for pants yeah I several that were tailor made.....perfect for the office and dressier affairs. But for my usual bootleg low waist pants I go to a store called Bench. I'm NOT sure if they have a store in the States (last I heard they were going to put up a branch!) but this is an Asian brand that has EXCELLENT, and very well priced clothes (think, cheap but good quality!)

=D

i'm in love with irregular choice shoes at the moment,so classy and gorgeous.....however as i can't wear heels am limited to thier flats......
i'm loving at the moment 50's style glamour, corsets and skirts.does any one from the uk know of any websites/shops were i can find quality pieces but at a reasonable price?:)

I like wide-leg capris (never heard them called gauchos, that's heinous). I wouldn't wear them in polyester, though. They are amazingly comfortable and they look cute with the new pointy shoes that are in style. :)

happyus - try www.darkgarden.com for corsets. If I remember right, fairnymph had her wedding gown made by them. :) They are in the US and kind of pricey, but they do ship internationally.

H&M opened a flagship store here in San Francisco just before the holidays - they have good work stuff, but I'm a discount department store (Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx) junkie.

For shirts and sweaters I like, dare I say it, J. Crew.

chrissie, h & m has niuce button up shirts sometimes. NY& Co def. have em all the time. I was in filenes the other day and they had some cute ralph lauren ones but they were a bit pricey.

Sometimes h&m do, but not often. I've been more disappointed with their clothes lately :(

Someone else mentioned Filenes to me, so I'll have to check them out. Never thought to look at the shirts there. Looks like there's a NY&Co in White Plains that I may have to visit.

Thanks guys :)

thankyou mariposa, they are truly gorgeous corsets, however with customs slapping as much tax on as they do,it's not worth ordering anything from america. last time i ordered from america the customs charge ended up being half as much as the original cost, which made it pointless buying 'cheaper' from the usa....bastards!=D

I've sworn off buying clothes until I can dispose of most of mine now. But my favorite brands (in terms of design and fabric) are British India and Marni. I like wearing comfortable things, and fabric like linen and silk and cotton. I stick to basics and unusual pieces.

CC.. I didn't know Bench had good stuff. I guess the billboards make me puke. Locally, Wink by Rhett Eala had some pretty good stuff!

i really need a new purse. i don't want to drop too much money on one either.. can anybody suggest a good place to look, online? and no, not ebay. i've just spent the last hour looking on there and not finding any good deals. :(

even brand name suggestion would be welcome!:)
