The Official BL Fashion Thread!

First place to look for hats for a party like that would be thrift or vintage stores since you probably won't be wearing them again. I've got a decent collection that I paid around $3-5 each for. Barring that go to any department store that includes fashions for older African American women, or to a wig shop. You can always get a fairly plain hat and fix it up with flowers and feather and whatnot.

So I was in Jo-Ann fabrics the other day and they have the fake fur capelets (with ribbon ties) in black, brown, and ivory for $12.99 and they look really nice...so if anyone was wanting those, that's an awesome price at an unexpected place.
 
any recs for wine colored knee high boots. not too high of a heel because im already tallish.

found a pair of nine west but i didnt looove em.

Roxy's new courduroy pants for Fall come in awesome colors (if you wanna go that route) or basics...and are so amazingly comfortable.

I found em in PacSun for 40ish but i also saw them in TJ Max for 16.99. too bad they didnt have my size :(
 
Ok so..update on my boot situation.

I havent found any i like as much as a pair i saw @ Nine West. The only thing is that they cost $100 and thats the most i have ever spent on shoes. I want to be sure I can wear them as much as I possibly can before spending the money. My question is:

Here is a photo of another pair of boots...they are totally ugly imo but its the detailing towards the top of the boots i need to know about.

see how there is details towards the top...well the boots i want have a lot of details on em and i dont know how to wear them when it starts getting colder without covering it up?

just make sure your bottoms (skirts im assuming you'll wear them with) arent too flashy--- if you have embellished shoes, its a good idea not to wear embellished bottoms.

on a different note, i think boots like that would look really cute with a jean skirt (a longer one, like to right above the knee), and fun camisole and a blazer. then get some funky earrings that will tie the shoes in and go with it.

hmmn i cant wait til fall. :) fall fashion is one of my favorite things about this season. i think lowi and i talked about this last year haha
 
dg: a lot of the styles involving boots involve either wearing them with a skirt or tucking pants into them (ick), so both of those show off the detailing of the boots
 
i also dont like cowboy boots, these were winter boots with designs.
 
I saw a lovely full length jacket the other day in H&M which I could have bought just like that. Too bad I didn't have the £35 on me, nor could I justify buying a winter jacket when it's 27 degrees outside.

Actually I'm really in here to ask whether you guys have any pre Christmas sales over in the US? If I have the money in November I'm half tempted to go over to New York for the week and just go absolutely nuts shopping. I'll be able to kill two birds with one stone buying Christmas presents, as well as getting a whole new wardrobe. ;)

the day after thanksgiving (fourth friday of the month) is when they have big sales. but shopping that morning is absolutely nuts and the sales are for the first hours of the day I think.

I want to wear some of the new menswear style pants but I'm not sure what I should wear with them.

Also, what styles of purses are happening right now? ;)
 
^larger totes (think bowling style bags) or hobo bags - colors/trends to note: bronze (not gold or silver), green, rouching, studs, tassles and suede.

i'm also a personal fan of $1.50 under-armpit clutches in colors i'd never even dream about wearing such as lavendar, lime, or orange.
 
With menswear pants you wear a more girlie softer top, maybe something a bit more clingy. You see a lot of sweaters & lingerie tops with them this year.
 
Gauchos are in again... I FUCKING HATE THEM! Every third girl on my campus is wearing them. I would not be nearly so adverse to it if they all didn't have the exact same disgusting POLYESTER black ones. They sould be made of cotton (or cotton blends) ONLY!!!! Ugh, they are so disgustingly ugly, and have a terrible propensity for creating camel toe... :P :D
 
Yeah I don't understand that choice of material either...I actually like the style of pants and wanted some, but the only ones I can find are those!

I may resort to making some from my mom's old patterns or something. :p
 
Jersey material can be so unflattering sometimes. Some girls at my school don't realize that it clings to every curve.

I recently bought structured corduroy gaucho's. They're really cute and corduroy is a popular material this fall.
