The Official BL Fashion Thread!

I HATE POINTY SHOES! So if they are going out of fashion, I will be absolutely estatic...there might actually be some shoes then that I will like!

I also hate the skirt/dress over jeans look, I think it just comes across as stupid and hippie-ish, and it's NOT flattering at all (generally wearing lots of layers isn't!).

I rarely buy or wear or care for trendy clothing. I tend to go with very simple things that could be worn during any era.

I do love old fashioned things though like corsets and full skirts etc.

I was wearing bootcut jeans for about 2 years before they were popular! Tapered jeans are absolutely evil, and so goddamn ugly and unflattering.

I like velvet but it's not always flattering. Fall clothing is my favourite -- especially in the NE. :)

First purchase for fall...I just got these boots at Target:

Now I just have to stick them into the closet until November, but they were so comfortable and made my legs look hot. :D

^those are the cuteness that are coming from the ugg generation---thank god, looking back, i wonder why i even bought uggs. they are f'in ugly but i guess i've always been more comfort > cute...

FN, i remember being in 6th grade wearing bootcuts... other kids' moms werent falling for it yet... LMFAO. i wish i had a picture of me in my little GAP outfit and my friends still in the teeshirt/straight leg jeans stage. awwwe.

i was just watching life & style and they showed lots of menswear --- but wearing the oxford off your shoulder and using a tie as a sash/belt/hairpiece. they also showed more gold (yay, i love funky gold stuff) and talked about using makeup style bags as hangbags. all this stuff is thrift store shopping worthy, i must admit!

I hate uggs...they are generally shapeless and overpriced. I like the wedge heel of these and the way they are fitted. Being $35 makes them even better ;)

ahhhhh.... I love clothes. Some people collect Precious Moments figurines. I collect clothes. Tomato, tomahto...

At anyrate, I think we need to keep up on the links to sweeet clothes... b/c I'm obsessed and I need all the help with my fixation as I can get.

One thing I'm having a real hard struggle with right now is finding an awesome wallet. I want one made of leather preferrabley, but I'll take a nice vinyl... I want it to be so unique/funky that even I won't be able to handle it! If thats possible. I don't know. I saw one on one of those links that Future Pig listed... it was by LOOP NYC... it was deck! except it was gold.... I hate gold....

So yeah, lets keep up the links... and also post about things you're having a real hard time finding. I may be able to help you.....

Flat rubber bracelets are NOT in. It's not a style you morons. It's to hold vigil for a loved one fighting cancer. Been seeing a gazillion knock offs of the original Lance Armstrong Foundation's brainchild. Some knock offs are from other charitable causes, others not. All of them should be thwarted. Having worn a yellow bracelet for close to a year as my godfather passed it really pisses me off to see this become a style, a fad. :X

^as much as i agree with you, everyone i know who wears the yellow bracelets wear them for the same reason you are--- because they know someone who has passed away from cancer. well... then there's the guy that wears a green, glow in the dark one that says "livestoned" which just rocks regardless of the fact that the idea was ripped off :)

fordee winks--- ive had such good luck with guess wallets. i usually go for a classic black one, but they've got funky ones, too, just like theyve got funky purses. i've found mine for super cheap at guess outlet stores and/or discount stores like tjmaxx or marshalls. OR check out thrift stores... or urbn, naturally :)

I hate those bracelets. HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM. First of all, they're ugly. Second of all, they're everywhere, and thats annoying. It was a great idea at first, sure, but, its gotten out of hand.

I saw someone with one for some sports team (I forget what, but he had on a jersey and a stupid rubber bracelet to match) and that has nothing to do with the original idea of those bracelets.

From one of my magazines...fall favorites...
Empire dresses
Skinny pants (eeww.)
Poufy skirts (also eww)
Menswear basics
Russian dressing (that's kind of cool...like gypsy stuff for cold weather)
Eclectic textures
Clean classics
Touches of romance
Ladylike coats
i love self! i spent an hour at least oggling the like, 15 pages of shoes they had. :)

oh and orange county choppers... lol awwe lori we live in NW ohio honey its a motorcycle company. its NW ohio's way of saying "im a hick but im trying to be a hardass" ;)

I'd have to say that the "orange county choppers" tees phenomenon can be lumped together in the same category as any other tee with some company's huge logo slapped on the front of it. I think its a person's feeble attempt to belong to a certain "culture" that they possibly wouldn't otherwise belong to without that article of clothing. I know that most people don't really look into it that deeply, but I believe thats the underlaying psychology. Just like when you were in middle school and you NEEDED those Nike's... It's the same thing. Any thoughts?

Undeniable proof (as if you needed it) that the rubber band craze has gone too far:

That is an S. Carter Baller Band. Yes, Shaun Carter, as in Jay-Z, as in THE RAPPER. There's a whole line of them. Takeover baller bands, Encore baller bands, 99 Problems baller bands... baller bands, for fuck's sake. Way to shit on a wonderfully touching idea.

Starting my fall clothes shopping and found some cute reasonably priced stuff at Rampage.

Any suggestions on where to find the best blazers?

Oh, and I just got an invitation to a friend's bridal shower and apparently it's a Bridal Tea and Fancy Hat Party. So, any idea where I find a fancy hat, like the old rich lady Kentucky Derby kind?
