The Official BL Fashion Thread!

I've started to collect jackets like that. Not with print on the inside (some have patterned piping inside though, which is a nice touch). They're great because I'm always cold and they're nice enough to wear at work (business casual). :)
 
I hate seeing all the cute little jackets in the stores now because down here you can't even think about wearing them until November or so. You either buy it now and sit on it, or wait and chance them not being there later on.
 
^^ Yeah, I agree, that really sucks. The last thing I want to do now is wear ANYTHING with sleeves!!

That looks like A&F dg- where did you get yours?
 
Filenes. Its a dept store here similar to Macys/Dillards and such..not sure what you guys have in Ohio. Its by Rampage.
 
Filenes is a May's department store (Foley's, Hecht's, Kaufmann's, Robinsons-May and Strawbridges) :)

I hate freezing offices! I wish it was 80 degrees everywhere, all year round :D

If you're not going to discuss the topic at least somewhat seriously, then don't respond at all. I'm sure you're somewhat fashion conscious lacey, or else you'd dress like the proletariat.
 
Yay! THis is my favorite topic. I'm a fashion design major, ya know. ;)

P.S. If you go to ebay and type in "DIY" for clothing. Some really amazing one-of-a-kind, hand-made pieces come up. I find Supayana's to be the best.

Actually, there is a debate about this. Eighteen months prior to the new season people known as "Fashion Forecasters" go to the streets and observe what the common-folk and younger trend-setters are wearing.

From those observations, they assemble a book of samples and writings, known as a "Predictive". Predictives are very costly and are not offered to the public.

From there, it is believed designers base their pieces from these Predictives.

The conflict is, do the trends begin at consumer-level or is it the fashion forecasters that decide what's "in"?
 
I read somewhere that often fashion designers go to Japan and study what they wear. I should find that article. :)
 
I love the Harajuku inspired-styles. FRUITS is a really neat look-book as far as collective, Japanese fashion. I really appreciate the funky, urban look. I live in the desert though, so layering pieces is out of the question.

I think that since Japan is concidered far advanced in technological aspects, their textiles and fabric materials offer a step ahead in the fashion industry.

Ok, but where can you buy stuff like that, only not insanely expensive? I feel so wrong buying free people clothes when it just looks like stuff I can buy from some hippy at a festival for 1/5 the price.
