Anybody following the aussie progress in sri lanka?
I been living under a rock in a cave for last few weeks so haven't quite been up to speed with everything. What did Gilly and Symonds end up getting for their 'misconduct'?
See Buchanan has come out and said he believes the sri lankan team isn't as good as the aussies 1st thought, even though they lost to em. Will be a good series and tour. Is about time i crawl out from under my rock and exit my cave and glue myself to foxtel to get a fix of cricket.
Lets not let this thread die, it beats the hell out of the usual inane shit generally talked about in here.

Gilchrist got fined half his match fee for dissent, Symonds was found to have shown 'dissapointment' as opposed to 'dissent' and wasn't fined with anything.

At the moment, the 3rd one dayer is going on over there. Sri Lanka are about 3/54 or so with Gillespie having taken all 3 wickets... follow the livescores over at www.baggygreen.com.au

Shit! Gillie out for a duck, hayden out also, they were 2/4.....ponting and martyn now stabilised.....30 odd each with the run rate around5 and a half.....need 227 for victory....

I so need foxtel as well. I need my cricket fix, plus also there is no free to air access to the greatest footy tournament in the world, the Super 12 rugby. I need to watch my Brumbies go round and round :)

Ahhhhhhh the pleasures of fox sports 1 and 2, lovely viewing last night, end of NZ Vs SA game, then the Aust Vs Sri Lanka.

Only problem watching the cricket in Sri Lanka is Dean Jones as a commentator is absolutely shocking, dont get me wrong great cricketer but can not commentate for shit.
 
when sick of the shitty tv commentators it can be good idea to turn volume off and activate the radio. Although I'm not 100% if it is being covered on radio. I assume it is. I been bit busy with work to be able to listen/watch cricket.
Its a bit of a bitch with the radio for audio and tv for visual thing cos its kinda outta time. The dwell on the radio means the commentary is like 5 or so seconds late. But can be worth it for the joys of Kerry O'Keif's comments and not having to listen to tony greg.

Wish they had a Rugby League State of Origin kinda thing for the big cricket games....ie: Roy +HG commentating on the game.....they call the game, but do the funniest pisstake on it at the same time.....they also called some games of this years Australian Open, again very very funny......
 
i didnt watch it...but saw the ING cup final on the news!!!

Looked like a fucken cracker!!! Jimmy Maher cutting sick and then an amazing finish when W.A were up shit creek without a paddle. Anyone watch it?

We lost to the lankans in the last one day game...anyone see brad hogg bowl that guy round his legs? and symonds fat off-break?...

i deducted this all from the late news...i need foxtel :(
 
Gilly will be spewing that he fucked up his flawless record as captain of 1 Day Team. Before this game Gilly had 100% strike rate as skipper.

So its stumps on day 4 and we've turned the 1st test on its head. Centuries from Hayden, Martyn and Lehmann have given Sri Lanka a target of 352 on the final day. Murali ended with 11 wickets for the match. We could come away with an unlikely win here people. %)
 
Yes it's all happening here at Galle International Stadium!

The Sri Lankans pitch doctoring efforts seem to have backfired on them as they now face the two best leg spin bowlers in the world on a 5th day pitch with no grass chasing a mammoth second innings target.

I really wish I had foxtel for this one. May have to spend most of the day sitting in the pub tomorrow me thinks.
 
Watched the last 2 sessions on Foxtel last night and I am prepared to eat humble pie, Damian Martyn batted really really well. The ball was still spinning a mile especially with Murily bowling but Marto and Lehman really concentrated hard.

It was great to watch Lehman bat, justified the selectors faith in him with that hundred. It was quite obvious he dedicated the hundred to Hooksey, was staring at the sky for a good 20 seconds after he had reached it.

Going to be a really interesting last day, has all the makings for a fairy tell ending Warnies 500th wicket and Australia pull of one of there greatest wins, well lets hope so anyway.

Hear hear. Baggygreen pales in comparison to the real thing. I remeber 'watching' a last ball finish online once, and it didnt do the match justice. It can't capture the moment. And the ball by ball descriptions are becoming equally lack-lustre of late.
 
Warne takes 10 for the match. Australia rule, Sri Lanka suck. That is all.

Oh, and did anyone see the kind of turn Warne was getting off the pitch at times? One of his balls, it must have spun away a good 50 to 60 degrees!
 
Oh and Hayden, Martyn and Lehmann scoring centuries, even better. Great return to century scoring form for Martyn, and fantastic for Lehmann as it should cement his place in the side, especially after a 60-odd in the first innings :)
